Torque is a measure of rotating force. Commonly used for bolt fastening force and engine power.
For fasteners that matter, the manufacturer will list a torque spec for that fastener. By using the correct torque the fastener won't break, strip, stretch, or come loose. (There are other rules you may need to follow in some applications like order of multiple fasteners or loctite)
ELI5, 1 ft lb of torque is 1 lb of pressure applied to the end of a 1 ft lever. 50 ft lbs would be 50 lbs at the end of the same lever. For euro folks you may see Newton meters, same concept with metric units of length and pressure.
To set your fastener to your goal value you will need a special tool.
Torque wrenches are fancy ratchets that have an adjustable torque value. When you hit your selected value, they will click or beep depending on what kind you bought.
There are also screwdrivers for lower values, those usually cam over at your selected torque. That means they slip inside and the handle turns without turning the fastener.
Pro tips.
On wrenches it is important to stop when it beeps or clicks, they will allow you to apply too much torque to the fastener if you keep going.
Use steady force, jerking on the tool makes it easy to keep going past the beep or click and apply too much torque.
Torque wrenches and screwdrivers should be used for tightening to a goal value only, never loosening. They are not to be used as a ratchet or screwdriver even though they could.
Always reset the tool to 0 between uses, this helps keep the calibration accurate.
Lots more to know but this enough to do better quality work. Usually I'd say enough to be dangerous but this genuinely makes the work you do safer, ever seen a wheel fall off on the side of the road? Wrong torque on the lug nuts.

Few and low value zaps proves that nostr works as intended. There is a big consumerist push to base all market and value measures on spending. Market forces don't work if the spending is indiscriminant. Spending should be carefully considered and only then does it create a useful signal to producers.
I argue that "content" is currently massively overvalued in the current economy. It is a gimmick because the loop is so tight. Content -> ad for more content -> another ad for more content. Any other market requires a change of venue of at least switching to a different app to make a purchase.
So in a world where you create content on nostr that doesn't use any ads in or out, why should you get paid? We intentionally broke the attention economy as a base philosophical precept and then act shocked when the flow of money slows.
People still flinging cash at every stupid thing haven't broken the consumerist mindset like Bitcoin and Nostr were supposed to help us do.

The original baseline of a random sample compared to modern men typically only being tested when they have an issue is just one of the reasons the decline of testosterone is a useless statistic. Also the test used changed. Bad enough to compare 2 different test types without validating they give equivalent results, but in this case it is documented that the newer test gives lower results on the same man at the same blood draw.

It goes both ways for sure. I caught her about to tear into an 18 hour worse than doing nothing unless you finish job with places to be in an hour just a couple of days before that.
It also puts it on you to try to learn self regulation because if you're disregulated you'll never be able to help, more likely to be an added burden. Like by starting something you can't finish leaving a mess that causes even more future disregulation for both of you.

I think neurodivergent people definitely need intervention from time to time. We have a joke phrase we use to check in. We both know that the smartest most capable person is a worse than useless idiot once they reach a certain level of disregulated.
The other day I beat my head against a problem for 45 minutes before my wife talked me into quitting for the day. Woke up the next morning and realized that the solution was to measure the thing. I was tired and frustrated to the point that I couldn't figure out the way you make sure 2 things are the same size is to measure. I have a masters degree and engineer in my job title.
The key is to help them recover their self regulation so they can do it themselves. Very different than just taking over and making the decision or doing the thing. Also way harder but that may just be a lifetime of alexithymia talking.

I know multiple MAGA boomer men with anorexia. I'm not saying there is a professional diagnosis, that comes from seeing a mental health professional. Seeing a mental health professional is something for teen girls with eating disorders so they would never do that. Anyway, they are obsessed with their weight, specifically losing weight on the scale. Weird obsessive diets including straight up refusing to eat. The loss of muscle mass and the harm it has on their ability to function doesn't dissuade them. Family members questioning their health to their face and pointing out repeatedly that they look like cancer patients withering away doesn't dissuade them.
I'm not drawing any conclusions yet but I will say it strikes me as weird. I don't know many men in this category but it is a significant percentage of the ones I know.

This seems to be a huge part of the gains of new models. Smarter models are just doing way more reasoning than older ones. Kimi writes a damn book for even basic tasks. Reading and it is often going over the same ideas multiple times refining.
So the models aren't that much smarter so much as they let you throw more compute at the problem before spitting out an answer.

BMI is a bullshit score all around, arbitrary scale completely. The history of it makes it insulting that anyone uses it for anything. It "punishes" people for being tall which is neutral and for carrying more muscle which is a positive health marker.
This is mostly information that is so new that it isn't adopted yet. Will OP insist on applying the old BMI standard strictly once new guidelines that make more sense finally get approved? Poor obese Adrian Peterson had still better get his shit together.

One might look at this and think that your position is that nothing has been learned in 30 years that could allow us to improve healthcare.
I'm not arguing to be a blind follower but if you are blindly rejecting every change you are as dumb as people who are blindly following.
Something that improves your odds of an adverse outcome from 5% to 1% seems small framed that way but 1 in 20 becoming 1 in 100 is the same change and looks very different.
