This might be the best take and best explanation I’ve heard.
The piece that is always missing by guys like @nprofile…5egz and Saylor is that what they’re building is a bridge that will eventually have to burn as you put it. I’m still trying to wrap my mind around exactly how & why this has to happen.
However, my instinct has always been that there’s something incompatible between Bitcoin and a debt or credit based system.
So is your logic that when Bitcoin becomes the money of our species, there will be no debt? I’m hard pressed to see that as debt has existed for millennia, not necessarily just a product of fiat.

Fun thread to read here ^ thanks for sharing your thoughts.
I asked @nprofile…w932 about this once in the Q&A session of Mailbag Monday. He went on a rant about how it doesn’t matter what Satoshi intended for Bitcoin. Just like, it doesn’t matter what the creator of the internet intended it to be used for. It’s a protocol that anyone can use how they see fit.
He also mentions how it’s the same people who preach freedom who then say that Bitcoin should only be used in this specific way that I approve of. That was convicting for me.
If I’m for freedom, I’m for people being free to use Bitcoin as they want.
However, I don’t understand Michael’s long term play - become a bank in the future? Provide digital credit backed by his stores of Bitcoin?
A related but sidebar thought - what will become of stocks / the stock market? Will there be a system that’s recreated but using bitcoin as the unit of account instead of fiat currencies to invest in bitcoin companies?
Curious about your thoughts on these matters.

Currently reading The Ancient Way of the Mind and thinking about the default mode network (DMN) — the idea that when the volume is high, experience can feel like rain hitting a pond: so many ripples at once that it’s hard to tell which sensation belongs to what.
Meditation seems to turn that volume down, sharpening perception and interoception — less “me narrating myself,” more direct experience.
What’s interesting is that some athletes describe THC similarly during movement: feeling more in tune with the body, breath, and subtle signals.
The book also frames psilocybin as another chemical way of accessing something similar — almost like remembering a more primal meditative state of mind.
Meditation through trained attentional stability, THC through CB1 receptor modulation, psilocybin through serotonin pathways… different doors, but I’m curious where all three overlap in the brain.

That’s a great way to orange pill. I love it. I’m going to an emerging bitcoin economy in May and would love to orange pill some uber drivers. Last time I was there some were interested but none were accepting BTC yet.
I’ll have to look more into that and whatever is being built on GitHub (although it’s a bit technical for me).

An Uber driver just told me he often sees Uber keep ~40–45% of the fare.
What’s interesting is Uber itself says there is no fixed percentage — their formula is:
customer price – driver earnings – third-party fees – operational costs = Uber’s service fee. Uber also says that “at the end of the week, Uber never makes more than you do.” (Uber)
But in practice, many drivers report keeping only 50–60% of what riders pay, and some report Uber’s cut reaching 45% or more on certain rides, depending on trip length, surge pricing, airport fees, insurance, and local market conditions. (Reddit)
That’s why a Nostr + Bitcoin peer-to-peer rideshare model feels like one of the clearest real-world use cases for this ecosystem:
• rider pays less
• driver keeps more
• instant settlement
• no giant intermediary extracting the spread
• reputation + trust could live on Nostr
This seems like an an obvious perfect use case for mass adoption of Bitcoin / nostr.

This morning in yoga, one thing that stood out to me in the balance poses was how we set our sights on something stationary to help steady ourselves.
It’s such a simple instruction, but it feels very applicable beyond yoga too.
When we’re going through a time where it feels like we’re balancing a lot — which is almost always true in life — focusing on something steady, something that isn’t changing or moving, can help us find steadiness too.
Also this morning, I got to help a yoga teacher accept Bitcoin for the first time.
I’ve taken her classes for almost two years now, and after class I told her I was going to ask a question she probably had never gotten before: that I’d love to support her teaching by donating in Bitcoin.

At a night market last night, we stopped at a coconut stand and ended up having one of those unexpectedly great conversations.
After buying a couple coconuts, we started talking with the stand runners — both seniors in high school — about their POS setup. They said they recommend a different one that that they aren’t using over their current set up because the fees seem lower.
Then we asked if they knew much about Bitcoin.
Their reaction was immediate excitement: “Wait… how do people actually do that? Do people really pay that way?”
Honestly, it was refreshing to see that kind of genuine curiosity — no cynicism, just interest and openness.
Very cool experience. Hope we run into them again… and next time pay in Bitcoin. ⚡🥥

Have you read Dr. Beckers work?
From the 1960s - 1980s, Robert O Becker was studying nnEMFs as well. He used the term “bio electricity” and his lab was eventually defunded when he spoke out against Project Sanguine / Seafarer on 60 minutes. YouTube video linked below. Both of his books are great reads - The Body Electric (1985) & Cross Currents (1990).

When traveling, though, that’s not always realistic—limited kitchen access, ingredient quality, or cookware can make it impractical. In those situations, I’m interested in how others think about balancing food quality with supporting Bitcoin-accepting businesses.

This is something I've thought about as well, especially since I enjoy traveling to Bitcoin-friendly economies. Often, I find myself in situations where I have to choose between high-quality food spots that don't accept BTC and lower-quality food places that do. So when deciding where to go for lunch, which option should I prioritize?
In my opinion, all businesses — like all individuals — will eventually need Bitcoin to survive. As Bitcoin adoption spreads throughout the food industry, businesses that offer the highest quality products will ultimately be the ones most rewarded, forcing others to adapt or risk becoming obsolete. While this shift may take time, those with a low-time preference will benefit in the long run.
Currently, my priorities are to support businesses that either (1) create clean, nourishing food or (2) accept Bitcoin. While these values are equally important to me right now, I believe that businesses which do both will come out ahead in the long term.

I just checked the app and it costs $500MXN or $27 USD from the airport to Puerto Juarez. Takes about 30 minutes depending on traffic. We booked private transportation before hand and it was more expensive and took longer. I saw that it was a good idea on Reddit. I do not recommend doing this.
There will be ferries leaving all day from the port. Book ferry ticket here: www.ultramarferry.com/en
There’s an option to book a ticket that is redeemable within 6 months of purchase date on the selected route. This is what we did so we had our tickets reserved but weren’t rushed to make a specific ferry time.

Funny story I promised — the scholarship fund burger 🍔🎓⚡
Bitcoin transactions are irreversible. 🔒
Good thing bitcoiners are good, honest people. 🧡
Yesterday at Isla Burger, I ordered a burger patty with guacamole 🥑🍔. I helped the waitress create the invoice—the total came out to 242 MXN 💵🇲🇽.
We typed 2-4-2 into the Bitcoin terminal ⌨️⚡.
I scanned the QR code 📱.
The payment went through ✅.
I grabbed my food and left 🚶‍♀️.
The next morning 🌅, we went to Isla Bistro 🍽️. When we asked to pay in bitcoin ⚡, the owner came over to help us. He mentioned we should check out his other restaurant—Isla Burger—and we told him we’d been there the day before and loved it 😍.
Then something clicked. 💡
He pulled up a chair at our table 🪑 and asked me to double-check the payment I’d made the day before. My stomach dropped 😬—I thought maybe the transaction hadn’t gone through.
Instead, I realized the only transaction from the day prior was 243,000 satoshis 😳
That’s about $240 USD 💸—nearly 18× the cost of my burger.
I explained my confusion, and he smiled 😊.
“That’s right,” he said. “When you entered 242, it defaulted to dollars, not pesos.” 🇺🇸➡️🇲🇽
He immediately asked me to create an invoice for the difference so he could reimburse me 💛—and he did 🙏.
Even if he hadn’t been open to correcting it, I would have slept just fine that night 😌.
As we sorted out both the reimbursement and the payment for the meal I had just eaten, Gustavo shared why he accepts bitcoin ⚡.
He’s 45 and recently became a father 👶.
His son, Pablo, is seven months old 🍼.
Gustavo’s vision is to save every bitcoin payment from his two restaurants and condos as a long-term college fund for Pablito 🎓📚🟠.
I got to meet his wife, Diana, and their baby that day 🤍.
That moment really clicked for me.
