I'm using #robosats a lot and I can recommend it. Also sometimes @nprofile…3t66. But more recently most of my stacking is trough p2p with the people I know in person. Running a weekly @nprofile…j4mx helps a lot to meet bitcoiners and get to know them better. I'm also using @nprofile…c3df, but it's country specific.
I had to embrace the reality, that non-kyc corn comes with some premium. But rarely I pay more than 2%.

I'm not sure if it works this way for everyone, but at some point I stopped worrying about the bitcoin price. The only number that I care about is the number of satoshis in my cold storage. I don't have control over the price, so caring about it was stressful. I have some control over the number of satoshis that I own, so this stresses me out much less. It's very liberating.

It's like cash issued by a private bank (mint). You can give it to someone, with zero fees, nobody knows about it except for you two. It's nominated in sats, but it's actually some mint's sats, worth nothing on LN or in other mints. You, or the other person you gave it to, can convert it back to LN sats with a small fee, but you need to use the same mint (cash issuer). The mint can rug you at any time, so it's good to use a reputable one. Like with custodial LN. But there's some chance, that this rugability will be removed in the future™.

Someone wise once told me that a person can afford luxuries only when they can by paid for using the yield or dividends, not the base wealth. Bitcoin teaches me that there is no yield, though. And today I think that I don't need luxurious lifestyle and I don't expect it. Being wealthy allows for supporting one's family and friends and in general makes life easier. But I don't think I will ever need or want fancy stuff. I consider vacation and travel not a luxury, but a normal and necessary part of life, though.

I have a loose hypothesis on that. It fits to nostr, bitcoin, austrian economics etc. There is a certain, small percentage of freedom lovers in society. The libertarian parties' election results all over the world are a rough estimate of this percentage. Around 1–5 or so. If such a party gets a better result, it's because they went into an alliance with some populists, eg. nationalists.
These freedom lovers are more likely to be the wolves, to use freedom tech, to place their liberties above their comfort. This applies to relatively free and rich countries. In other circumstances the percentage may change drastically, when people are put against the wall. But in times and places where comfort is easily available, at least 95% will choose comfort above freedom.

Yeah, even though probably there are hundreds of sub-communities, you could say that there is something like mainstream nostr (sic!) community, and in this sense I agree with you. But does this community need a consistent identity in the first place? Who are those potentially confused? I'm a bitcoiner, but I'm also realistic. This world operates on fiat/credit, that's why I don't live on the bitcoin standard. I earn fiat, spend fiat and save in bitcoin. I also spend bitcoin, but it's probably around 1–5% of my spending. This way I am happy both in bear (cheap sats!) and in bull (we're winning!). This way it's easy to say 1btc=1btc. I get it, that for other bitcoiners the situation might be different. I respect their choices and I make my own. I also engage in spreading the bitcoin network, but I don't really expect impressive results. I'm convinced the results will come, but to get to see them I consider a bonus.

Arabica 100%, light roast, ground just before brewing. Filter. Aeropress is my favourite, other methods will do. It's a completely different world. Apart from that it's probably DNS... I mean relays. But don't ask me how to fix it, I wish I knew. The outbox model seems to be promising in that regard, but I don't know if there's an iOS client with outbox model and frankly I still encounter issues. Wisp seems to be the most reliable, but usually I switch between the clients and sometimes I notice that also wisp missed some notes.
