I think our time is our hardest asset. We don't know how much we got, but if we lose it, it is lost forever.
That is why I think, we shall appreciate the time others spend with us, because that is the most valuable thing they can give.
Somehow our current society teaches else, and even tries to "steal" our time by ads, by trapping our attention.

Sometimes you help the most with not helping.
We might think that when one of our loved one or friend has a problem we shall help them to solve it.
But sometimes, we will just annoy them with our help. We just overwhelm them because on top of their problem, we give them lots of ideas that stress them more instead of helping.
So sometimes better to take a step back, and only give help when it is requested.
Also in case someone has a problem, and someone else is already giving advice, our help could lead to being overwhelming more, because it will seem like that everyone is telling the person what to do, who has a problem already.

I guess this is due to the supply and demand based on people's psychology?
Sellers want to earn more money, buyers want to spend less money.
Sellers want to sell their product with a high price. If they sell it once, they would give such a high price, that people wouldn't buy it, so they make it a subscription service.
But I assume, buyers of services assume that for services they get the benefit of a maintanance.
Just my 5 cents.

...and you are a nostr advocate, use nostr and casually share nostr links with friends without explaining what is nostr or they shall use it. Just share links. They will find it out anyway.
... and you are a dev, create tools for creators, so they will bring here their content, that will bring here their followers.
Where the creators are, the people move to.

I assume, if nostr has bigger content selection, and periodic appearance of it, it would give better audiance.
So either we, if we are creators, shall move here.
Or we, as nostr advocates, shall casually share nostr links with friends with any explanations on nostr. They will find it out anyway.
Or we, as devs, shall create stuff to draw the attention of creators.
I think where the creators are, the people move to.

Great question!
In my opinion, you can use whatever app you want, the only important consideration you have to make, is how you share your nostr links. Through which service? Njump, snort, etc? Or you need better?
But you can keep using only 1 client, if you want, to make your content.
That is one beauty of it.

I think maybe we shall give them reasons to come here.
In my opinion, the only reason could be the content. Nostr can be as decentralized as it wants, or censor free, but if content, the main purpose of social media is not there. People won't stay.
So the move of a person's favourite content creator can be a really good drive to come here, because the content they enjoy will be here. On the other hand, for content creators, many tools are being built, so for them, the reasons come and stay will increase.
And if people are here to read their favorite authors or creators, they will want to learn to use it.

This way you could keep your audiance on other social media.
This could drive people to nostr.
And if you only share links a day later on other places, you can incentivize them to check nostr...

Hmmm, I think you touched many interesting topics in your answer, and I don't think you have hard feelings for any of the sides.
Let me try address some topics.
First, I think, if we will have fixed money supply, what we really solve in my opinion, is inflation induced by money supply changes. Inflation can be still there, but most probably, it won't be such "sticky", as we have now. As you mentioned e.g.: for bread. If most of the bread makers stop working, it can have huge inflation. So fixing the money supply is not really interfering with the inflation of the economy, it will only let it run by natural forces of supply and demand. For the bread case, in such a time in history, where bread prices skyrocket, in my opinion, more people will be incentivized to make bread, because they can earn a hell lot of money, with which they could "retire". So I would assume if bread prices grow, more people will go to sell bread on the market which will stabilize bread markets.
Usually to do something you have some costs, and you can have some returns. If most of the bread makers stop working, the gain you can get to make bread will be unproportional to its cost, so it will really worth to make it. But as more people enter bread making, it will naturally balance itself, and this is when the price stabilizes. At this point, it won't give you unproportional benefits of starting it, so the incentive will drop. I think usually this is refered to as an arbitrage opportunity which comes from market inefficiency. What is your opinion about this?

So in your opinion, people would

* stop increasing their living standards
if they can afford bread and water for the rest of their life?
If this is true, wouldn't we have more people working as priests, or such.
Or wouldn't more people advocate minimalism?
Also if you can reach this amount of money early on, wouldn't you get bored on bread and water quite quickly?
On the other hand, if everyone is a millionaire, no one really is, because if everyone wants to buy the same products, and their supply is fix, its price will grow.
Hmmm, and how about billionaires? Why are most of them keep working?
Also if we think about that the "people won't work" in such case. This means that our end goal is to work until we die? Or make people work until they die?
When do you expect in a deflationary environment, that people would reach enough money to live for the rest of their lives.

If there is natural price inflation, everyone gets wealthier.
If there is inflation, only asset holders gets wealthier. Not mentioning, that who has to concentrate to put food on the table won't have a chance to buy assets, so in inflation, they will get poorer.
I am not sure if it is the best situation to "save them from hard times" by enpoverishing them. Isn't getting poorer a "hard times" anyway? So I replace a times that I deem will be hard for you to a times, that will be for sure hard for you. Does it sound a good deal?

I think that's the beauty. If economy is not growing, there is no deflation. So if people are not spending, economy will be slower, deflation will be either slow, or not even there.
Deflation only occurs if money supply is fix, and economy is expanding. But it won't expand, if people are hoarding money. So to say:
Economy is growing -> deflation occurs -> people start to hoard -> deflation dissapears -> people spend again -> economy starts to grow again -> repeat

Usual argument why inflation is necessary:
In case of deflation, if the price of everything goes down, people won't spend their money, because they will rather wait, and that is bad for the economy.

Inflation is a result, not a cause.
The price of the things can be defined as:
Price = "Amount of money" / "Amount of goods"
So inflation occurs as a result if either the amount of goods decrease (gdp) or the amount of money increase (money supply).
If we fix the money supply (amount of money), deflation can only occur if the amount of goods increase, so when the economy grows. So deflation means the economy is growing.
Now what is the problem with deflation then?

The more the competition for a certain product or service space,
the better these products or services have to be for users to switch to them.
So the higher the competition,
the better the products.
Higher the competition, happier the users💜
So to get more competition, we need:
1️⃣ Barrier to entry shall be easy and open to anyone.
2️⃣ There shall be no "free lunch" in a way, that companies can get a lot of money for nothing. Money shall only be earnable by work. So no money printing, and no zombie companies (bigger costs then income -> these shall die to release capital to support better products.)
3️⃣ Open-sourcing: if someone invents something, he shall share it, so that others can improve on it.
4️⃣ Free market: capital shall be allocatable efficiently. Capital shall go there, where they create useful products.
If you want better products, you shall work on increasing competition. If you want to increase competition, you can concentrate on any of these areas, or all of them.

Also this what to allow, what not to allow is an interesting question in my opinion.
You could argue, that in bad situations, it does not help if people increase unrest, FUD, etc.
BUT if a profit centric company sets these rules, and decides what you can see, it also poses the problem, that showing drugs for a drug addict is the most profitable to do...
And if you optimize AI to do content optimization, it is inevitable to converge to... I mean if only profit optimization is the goal.
So basically we build a system to "prevent people from such bad consequences", to at the end cause the same bad consequence on an other topic while we make a company rich. Does it make sense?

Sure! YouTube is a really a privacy abusive application, so it is better not to use it.
If you want to use it, then it is better to use an alternative front-end that gives you higher privacy compared to its original website or app.
You will be basically able to browse all the videos, channels etc. You just only use another "client" or front end to access them to get higher privacy:
