A quick Camera Dates thought for the morning:
Morning light changes fast.
The shadows stretch, soften, disappear. Warm light turns neutral. A scene that looks beautiful at 7:15 can feel completely different twenty minutes later.
So instead of waiting for the “perfect” subject this morning, watch what the light is doing as it changes.
Pick one ordinary scene and photograph it a few times over the next 15 or 20 minutes.
Change nothing if you can help it. Let the light do the work.
Then compare the frames.
Which one has the most depth? Which one feels calm? Which one feels dramatic? Which one would you have missed if you had only taken one photograph and moved on?
That’s the lesson. Pay attention to the light.
Sometimes the subject isn’t changing at all.
You are just learning to notice when the light is.

One of my brothers is getting married soon and asked me to photograph some childhood pictures of him from our family album. And that’s when I came across this photo of my mother and me.
With a happy little grin on my face, I’m lying on the hood of our yellow car, which was already almost a vintage car back then, while my hippie mother changes my cloth diaper. Somewhere in the middle of nowhere, during a road trip through France.
The French supermarket bag in the background is proof of the era. A time when those bags were handed out freely and seemingly by the thousands at the checkout.

GM Nostr. Day 22 of rebuilding my Nostr habit.
Sipping in med/light Honduran and looking at the weather forecast. Stupid hot and humid this weekend and doesn't drop much heading into next week.
Need to record a video out at the property this morning and then cut and sand a custom Etsy order for some triangles. The lady said she will be using them for necklace displays. Normally our triangles are used for making crafty mountain displays, Xmas trees, candy corns or gnomes. This is the first time I have heard necklace displays.
