Perpetual Christmas mood until morale improves. Hope my people will start smiling again. The simple things in life.
The past few weeks have been pretty hard with all the trifling shenanigans. It seems like the devil has hands for me to catch sometimes.
Yet also, people have been crawling out of the woodwork to help me, help my puppy, help make my dreams for my community group into reality.
On top of that there is just the delightful character of this region. When I said I wanted to go back home, it was this type of culture and community. Joking and laughing with strangers in line at the grocery store. Random people giving me high fives in parking lots.
Someone slipped this note into my purse while I was out one day. (Yes my opsec is terrible and apparently my bag often just gapes open in crowded public places. It's fine for now 😅)
I feel so blessed and loved and lucky to be here where I can feel so connected to the people around me 🥰🙌🥰

I've been a machinist for 20 years.
I'm about tapped out of this grind.
I tell my superiors how it is. They hate it. But they can't fire me because I'm too productive and efficient.
There is also a huge lack of willing to learn/capable new employees showing up over the last 10 years.
AI hasn't seemed to replace demand/skill in the slightest. Covid was the same shit. "Work from home".

The problem with modernizing translations into contemporary English >2000s is the gravitational pull towards gender inclusivity and social justice which undermines the truthiness of God's word.

So I do suspect that was the actual reason 🤣
I joined the clay guild and went to their "clay church" Sunday morning gatherings for about 2 months when I first moved to town. I chose that guild because both the Makerspace manager and the clay guild leader told me that was the most social group with a Sunday meetup where they just laughed the whole time. I was super excited even though I don't know much about clay, I had fun getting my hands dirty and chatting with people in my new town.
It went super well for 2 months and I felt like I was making friends. Then one of the other higher ups in the Makerspace showed up one week (high school mean girl energy). The next day I got an email telling me I was no longer allowed to come on Sundays and I was welcome to go to the studio mid week when no one was there. Literally the explanation was that I "took up too much space" when I never even used a wheel and just stay in the corner away from the center of things to give the experts space.
Now they tell people that it was an additional paid class that I just randomly started crashing and that they gave me multiple warnings, which is absolutely untrue.
Anyways, sorry for the long post it hurt my feelings and had me feeling like I was back in middle school not allowed to sit at certain lunch tables. I guess technically I was only kicked out of that event, and then I cancelled my membership to the Makerspace on my own.
I still see that lady at events around town. The last one several people stood to say that I was building something super cool and useful wanting me to speak on it. She couldn't make eye contact 🤣

I am all in on Bitcoin. Financially, culturally, spiritually. A fight always brings risk. But if we don't fight for what we think its right, we loose. I think I am in the right team, in the right battle and in the right time. God willing we will win. Spammers, scammers and bad actors can go fuck themselves. Bitcoin is Freedom Money!
There is a segnificant degree of truth here. But I don't think we can characterize many of the deepest differences as merely trivial and fabricated.
Abortion, transing kids, the very essence and nature of manhood and womanhood, euthenasia, preferential treatment of foreigners over one's own countrymen, etc. These issues are a fundamental difference in how we view reality and there is little to no room for common ground on almost any of them.
Whether these things are all intentionally engineered to keep the commoners at one another's throats is a different matter that I am not necessarily contesting. Only saying that many of the biggest culture battles are not minor differences, they are deeply spiritual and foundational. Culture is cultus.
The King James Version Bible is beautiful, trustworthy, and challenging.
If you are unable to evaluate a translation, then the KJV is a great Bible translation to stick with.
At the same time, if you are unable to evaluate translations, then the chance of being able to thoroughly comprehend the KJV is low.
Personally, I use the ESV for every day Scripture reading. When verses, sections, chapters, and even books are difficult to understand, I fold in readings from the CSB and sometimes even the NLT. Both are optimal/functional equivalent translations that are literal when possible, but dynamic when necessary for low friction comprehension.
For deep study, I go in the opposite direction: the LSB for even more formal equivalence to the original manuscripts, and study bibles in ESV (Ligonier), KJV (Reformation Heritage), and CSB (Holman). A handbook (Ryken's) and a commentary (New Bible 21st) can really enhance the depth of your handle on the Scriptures.
Christians should learn how to navigate translations. Every single Bible, including the KJV, is a translation.
