I think that post is because of this:

Write the entire story of Harry potter. Make no mistakes.
I think a more correct approach is to have a recognizable default with options to change. Single press is more standard. Long press gives options.
I saw people requesting more than just a heart or thumbs up reaction years before Nostr even existed. One of the main arguments was that they wanted to actually react in a way that better reflected their actual feelings in a given context. Why does a heart make the most sense on every post? Why a heart? Why a thumb up? Why not just an eyeball saying it was seen? What's the point of a reaction? Is it the same for everyone? Does it make sense to force me to use a heart or thumbs up on a post about a dead child?

Yea... Except they don't have a true monopoly. I'm the jackass for opting to use them when there are freer (both senses of the term) options out there.

Nostr clients have a responsibility to be honest to their users.
Another one: App marketplaces shouldn’t show my identity as endorsing an app just because I follow the author.

I had 2 sandwiches with muenster cheese, two eggs, lots of Cajun seasoning and I made a mocha.
I fast in the evening, I find I sleep better. When I first started intermittent fasting coffee on an empty stomach caused all sorts of issues and no matter what I wake up famished.
In the evening time I often forget about eating completely 🤷♀️
money in a form the recipient doesn’t accept is not useful
I don’t want clients making up Ethereum or Monero addresses for my profile either, as much as I don’t want low-value UTXOs.
Just because some people think that it is acceptable as money/donations doesn’t mean the owner of the npub is.

how does Shopify get off charging @npub1c74…2cj2 "transaction fees" when we don't use their payment processing at all? They literally just have to update a row in a DB [to "paid"] when the external bitcoin payment processor says "satisfied".
They charge $2 each time they make that DB update?

Easy solution: Put an onchain address field on the kind 0
- People that want nsec-as-wallet can set it to that pubkey
- Apps that want onchain zaps out of the box can suggest users to enable this
- People that want more security can put a cold wallet or other wallet address
- People that don’t want it don’t have to do anything
Very lightweight. No new features ever.
Apparently some are able to leave
The rest of us on the other hand...

It is not expensive to run a relay though. If your relay is only used by a few users the cost is probably less than $1/mo (there are no such cheap VPSes out there, but you could be a tenant on someone else's server), same if you host stuff on your local desktop and expose it to the internet with Cloudflare etc, or even an Android phone.
I am not trying to win the argument of how easy it is to run a community or a relay, though. The entire point of Nostr is that most people don't have to run servers.
It is probably true that it in practice it is easier to run a BitSocial community (again, Nostr relays are not just communities, they are a bunch of things), but I'm not super excited about IPFS. Are you sure it works? I was super excited about IPFS many years ago but all I got was disappointment, wasted time and lost data. I don't think it can ever work. If it seems to work for you I would bet it is because they introduced some hardcoded bigserver centralization in the mix and everybody is relying on that without even realizing.
There is a cost to connecting, routing, finding, hosting and serving data. On Nostr these costs are clear and obvious with the concept of relays. On IPFS that cost is distributed to people who never signed up for that job.
What is inflation, really?

Bring back pirating? 🤷♂️
That's a good idea, yeah. I can change that in my @nprofile…httn script.
It makes sense to combine a Nostr (dating) app with (non-dating) Nostr meetups, such as #PurpleKonnektiv. Not merely to get to know someone directly, but to foster a meetup community where people you have met can increase the trust others assign to you online or introduce you to other people. Including to people who aren't (yet) on Nostr, or who only occasionally lurk.
You could issue digital attestations to people you meet in person, and that could be factored heavily into WoT. Instead of people posting personal information online, you find out about each other _offline_ and transfer that knowledge to Nostr, over an air gap.

First of all, let me wish a very happy birthday to the chosen people. May you be blessed by my God to yours!
Second, I'm sure the lizard people did the best they could given the harsh circumstances. Titanic had just sunk and they were preparing the stage for ww1. Do you think democracy is cheap to maintain? I thought so too.
Thirdly... women were barely working and children kept dying young instead of properly mining the mines until old age.
Have you tried voting harder maybe?

i believe the data center produces its own power via natural gas turbines independent of the grid by using a natural gas pipeline.
data centers recycle water. cool water in hot water out
40,000 acres sounds like a lot but that's probably a phased buildout over 20 years
the data center hatred is the same as the factory hatred and power plant hatred that led to power production, manufacturing etc going over seas.

What are some of the most interesting astronomical objects you can see in the night sky? Armed with a good pair of binoculars or a small telescope, if you live in the Northern Hemisphere, you can look for the very popular objects in the Messier Catalog . Most of them, but not all, are also visible from the southern half of the Earth. The featured image shows all 110 objects in the catalog at uniform scale -- the same magnification. Charles Messier created the catalog in the 18th century. He was interested in comets , and his catalog was a list of known comet-like " objects to avoid " in the sky when observing or hunting for comets. The deep sky objects in the catalog include a supernova remnant (the Crab Nebula , M1), other galaxies (such as Andromeda , M31), nebulae (e.g. the Orion Nebula , M42, a star-forming region) and stellar clusters (such as the Pleiades , M45, a bright young open cluster ).
