My mum loved flowers. Her ashes will be buried in a garden, which is poetic and wonderful. Every time I see a flower, I have to think of my mum. "She would like that one," is what I say to myself. "She would've liked that one," is what it will turn into, given some time.
I was with her when she took her last breath. "I love you," is what I said. Last moment. Last movement. One last breath. She saw my daughter the day before, and she smiled. It was her last smile.
We live our lives as if they wouldn't end; as if there was no last breath, no last smile, no last anything. But there is, and that's what makes everything precious. Every interaction, every word, every breath, every goodbye, every smile.
There is a last everything. But for as long as we are, there will be flowers.

The Difference Between a Platform and a Community
At first glance, a platform and a community might seem like the same thing. People sign in, share posts, and interact with others. But the real difference isn't in what the platform can do, it's in what the people choose to create.

Without people, a platform is simply a collection of profiles and posts. It's the conversations, shared experiences, and genuine interactions that give it meaning. Over time, familiar names become familiar faces, and simple exchanges turn into lasting connections.
That's one of the things that makes #BCHNostr enjoyable. It's not only about sharing content. It's about discovering new ideas, celebrating milestones together, learning from different experiences, and growing alongside people who share a common interest.

Everything comes in waves.
When I started Peony Lane, I threw myself to the wolves and figure out how to make good wine. While waiting for it to age, I had 2 years to figure out how to sell it.
In all that time, I was passively learning how to manage a vineyard, but that was ultimately my dad's responsibility. I would buy grapes from him each year.
Last year I took over the vineyard.
I made a few changes, but mostly ran with his tactics last year. This year its feeling much more my own.
Its going to take years to get it where I want though. I can only make small changes year to year without shocking the system.
I think that's what I love most about it. I love making small improvements over a long time horizon with the ability to make mistakes and learn along the way.
I didn't realize it when I got into wine and Bitcoin at the same time, but long term growth systems with high short term volatility are so exciting to me.

The biggest BCHNostr Pulse update so far is now live on the beta.
Over the past few days I've been listening to feedback, fixing bugs, and adding features that make the dashboard much more useful.
The update brings a faster and more efficient relay connection, new Author Growth and Activity by Hour charts, client-side search, Notes and Replies filters, expandable user statistics, better responsiveness across devices, and improvements to trending hashtags, conversations, and community growth metrics.
My goal has never been to build a flashy dashboard. I want BCHNostr Pulse to become a useful community tool—a place where anyone can quickly understand what's happening across BCHNostr, discover active builders and conversations, and see the ecosystem growing in real time.
This is still beta, which means there's more to build and more to improve. If you try it and spot something that could be better, I'd love to hear your feedback.

Scrolling through my BCH Radio profile today made me realize how far this journey has come. 🎶💚
I now have 22 tracks on BCH Radio, and honestly, I never thought I'd reach this point. Every song reminds me of the fun, creativity, and memories we've built together in the BCHNostr community.
It all started with my first track, "BCHNostr Rising." At that time, I was just curious about making AI-generated music. I never expected that song to get so much love or become part of something bigger. Looking back now, it's amazing to see how BCH Radio has grown and how many community members have joined in to create their own songs.
Big thanks to Quantum Bitcoin for starting the AI music activity. That challenge inspired so many of us to experiment, be creative, and fill BCH Radio with original tracks. It wasn't just about making music—it became another way for our community to connect, have fun, and share our passion for Bitcoin Cash.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the latest update and found my name under the "Most Tipped" list. Hahaha! I even landed in 2nd place. 🤭
Since I didn't fully understand what it meant, I asked ChatGPT about it. Lol

A good heuristic for life is the side of a debate with the better memes is usually right.
Memes distill truth.
My impression from reading more about the EU Digital Wallet project is that it originally had nothing to do with age verification. It was supposed to be a handy tool for a digital drivers license, for opening a bank account online abroad, making a digital signature, etc..
For such applications the privacy trade-offs were probably fine. Sure, the Dutch government can see that you just opened a German bank account. But they'd be notified of that anyway.
Where it gets more dubious is the requirement that large social networks support it for login. Then the government can see which accounts you have. And lock you out of them!
But realistically nobody would use that, it'd be some obscure option on the signup screen.
But then it got hijacked by the age-verification gang, headed by Von der Leyen herself - so coming straight from the top.
Because these apps will (initially) be the only way to do age verification, they go from a niche option to the default and effectively mandatory. And so what a started as a handy way to open a bank account after moving abroad, turns into a mass surveillance and censorship machine.
None of this is excusable, and the people voting for it knew (or were willfully ignorant, no moral difference) this would happen. But it's useful to understand the dynamics.

The reason why no KYC is so important is because even if you self custody, you can still be compelled to give up the keys. They have more than a $5 wrench.

i dream of a mulitalgorithmic, polyapporous, open social media world where one man or ceo doesn't have a monopoly on the the "for you" page.
Twitter has always done a great job at letting you control what you see. You could switch to following, close the app and reopen and it will still be on following. you can not follow anyone and default to lists and view the world through that lens.
Defaults matter and it will always be a competition to game the algos.
Twitter clones also matter in the long run, but for nostr to break out, there needs to be a useful app for anyone.
