The only reason Monero people get upset at Bitcoin people is Bitcoin people call Monero, & other utility coins like Ethereum, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, etc. “shitcoins”.
If you were talking about Doge, Trump, Floki, and super speculative meme coins then sure call those shitcoins but not technologies that have a valid purpose to exist.
Bitcoiners would never have to argue with another monero person again, if they just drop shitcoin from their lingo, or redefine it to only apply to speculative memecoins.
The only thing that separates Bitcoin, and Monero people is their preferred currency, outside of that we both believe in mesh, decentralization, free expression, privacy, open source software, etc.

I feel almost exactly the same as you. And I agree that the solution shouldn't be " just write code ¯\_(ツ)_/¯" cause that's what got us here.
But what's amazing is that no matter how shitty a Nostr client or relay is, if it followed the core spec and produces valid events, it's an equal participant in the eyes of the network. That doesn't help you, I know. And it makes me mad too. But that's how it's been possible to even get to this point. Protocol-complient but completely user-unfriendly experiences abound.
I reeee about poor code quality all the time, and I was doing it before vibe coding when people were still writing code by hand. But at the end of the day, my reeee-ing is still justified. Good code quality and prudent, sane engineering is how we move this thing forward, or else we're stuck floundering in our own pig-sty with a half dozen devs building for 2 dozen users.
How do we get there? I dunno. Devs aren't going to magically adopt a professional mindset, and vibe coding will only make things worse. Call it an epidemic of the field. It's a sickness and it's going to wreak a lot of havoc before things change.
I decided to build a relay. And I'm building it prudently. And it's going to take a while. But I hope you can take some small solace that there's at least one dev out there trying to do things right and professionally. I don't have grant money, and I don't care to obtain any because I don't need it. I'm going to make what I want to see, and I hope it can help make things better for me. And if it can make things better for me, maybe it can make things better for you. And that is my hope.
