As an outsider to that field, my question would be about precision. I'm assuming the measurements have become more precise and that the need for precision is increasing as easier fields are depleted.
Seems like that could explain the need for more frequent testing to me and more frequent testing with more precise instruments will show more change.

Germany's industrial sector lost around 177,000 jobs last year, the Federal Employment Agency reported on July 15, 2026. The agency said the figure refers to positions in industry covered by social insurance.
