El Salvador is a useful place to think about bitcoin because it takes the conversation out of the price chart and puts it into daily life.
The country had a brutal reputation for a long time. Civil war, gang violence, and one of the highest murder rates in the world are not minor details. Then Bukele cracked down, the murder rate collapsed, investment started to show up, and in 2021 the country made bitcoin legal tender.
When I visited Bitcoin Beach, the interesting part was how normal some of it felt. I paid for airport transport, food, drinks, souvenirs, and motorbike rentals with bitcoin. For the merchant, payment settles immediately and avoids the 3% card toll. For the traveler, it feels like cash without the bills and coins.
It was also clearly early. Plenty of vendors still preferred dollars, and even a Wendy's with a bitcoin sign did not exactly make checkout seamless.
That is probably the right lesson. Bitcoin's strongest product market fit is still saving, but global, liquid money becomes more useful when you actually move through the world. FIRE gives you more freedom to do that. Bitcoin gives you a better tool to carry with you.

The ontology debate is where semantic infrastructure gets serious.
Upper ontologies, RDF, SHACL, reification, rules, property graphs, OpenCypher — these are not just competing tools. They are different ways of deciding what reality is allowed to mean inside a system.
That matters.
Because knowledge graphs can describe relationships, but verification asks the harder question:
Does the behaviour match the claim?
This is where the couch opens.
Ontologies model meaning.
Graphs connect meaning.
BDD verifies behaviour.
DamageBDD turns that verification into infrastructure.
Everyone has a graph now.
Almost nobody has accountability.
Bring humility. Bring signal. Bring clean intention.

Peaceful Resistance, and Non-Compliance seems to be the best methods to resist any tyrannical act as acts of violence get branded as terrorism, and most of our legal avenues for swaying laws have been reduced.
We need to stay strong, & resilient, and do what we can by whatever means we can.

Most cryptocurrencies have anime characters it’s just Monero is more notable with it.
Even Bitcoin has had anime characters themed around it.
Though, yes I will agree, I guess there’s no “official anime girl” for Bitcoin since the more typically agreed upon mascot is this thing for whatever reason?
But even with Monero chan she’s technically not official either since you know decentralized project, consensus, etc.
Monero could fork too and have a lizard as our mascot too but it really seems redundant to micromanage the culture when the coins tradeoffs are about as optimal as they could be.
And some might prefer Bitcoin’s tradeoffs but for those that don’t they might chose monero to account for things they see as shortcomings in Bitcoin.

My sons and nieces have WoS wallets, and I zap em "allowance" pretty regularly. Usually just a few hundred SATs a day or a couple thousand on special days.
Over the months they've each accumulated a number of SATs that while not a tank of gas today, will become a car or rent payment in a few years.

Yes but there’s no logical reason to hate anime if you watch shows like Big Mouth, Boondocks, South Park, Super Prison, Robot Chicken, etc.?
Somehow people think Western Animation is pure, and clean, and anime is evil because anime is just more intense sometimes.
There are plenty of different animes for basically everyone these days now.
I just do not get the anime hate when western animation is just as bad if not worse than most animes when it comes to unsavory topics.
I read it and it's basically a criticism of italian society reaction to mass immigration. At least I interpreted it as such.
Mass, unrestricted, immigration is a dramatic issue in contemporary west even if the political "left" denies it and the "right" exploits it.
