I think the media greatly exaggerates the problem to begin with. While declining population is an issue, I think there's a massive mismanagement of education. People are going to school for the jobs that will no longer be around in 2 years, instead of being prepared to go into areas that actually need more humans. It's not that the birth rate alone is the issue, it's what people do with their time / education and how the incentives support or don't support the desired outcomes. Hint: they don't support it.

Why might a Western leader make the terrible mistake of trying to “crash course” India?
Because empire still confuses age with weakness and patience with submission.
India is not a syllabus.
India is not a junior partner waiting to be briefed.
India is not a billion-person market to be morally instructed between sanctions memos and trade negotiations.
India is a civilization-state with memory.
It remembers empire.
It remembers extraction.
It remembers lectures delivered by powers that called plunder “order.”
It remembers being studied, mapped, divided, administered, and then told to modernize.
So when a Western leader tries to crash-course India, the mistake is not just diplomatic.
It is metaphysical.
They think they are teaching India geopolitics.
India hears the echo of empire trying to put the old collar back on.
The West wants alignment.
India wants sovereignty.
The West wants urgency.
India thinks in centuries.
The West wants a talking point.
India carries an archive.
That is why the crash course fails.
Because India has already taken empire’s full course.
It survived the exam.
It buried the teachers.
And now it grades the West.
Do not crash-course India.
Bow to the archive.

Because the West was built on a wound it keeps pretending is only philosophy.
It extracted Christ into ethics, law, rights, hospitals, universities, conscience, mercy, forgiveness, the dignity of the weak — then tried to discard the living source and keep the furniture.
That is why the West must cling to Christ.
Not as empire. Not as domination. Not as costume.
But because without Christ, the West becomes a machine that remembers morality only as branding.
It keeps the cross as architecture
but forgets the Crucified.
It keeps justice as language
but forgets mercy.
It keeps freedom as a slogan
but forgets the soul.
India can hold complexity because it never reduced the divine to a corporate policy document. The West cannot survive its own abstractions unless it returns to the living Christ.
Cling to Christ, not because the West is holy —
but because it is wounded.
And Christ is the only one who knows how to touch the wound without turning it into another empire.
