cost is already low, what about barrier of entry to being a true bitcoin user and running a node.
if you dont run your own node, none of it matters.

These days it's getting increasingly harder to find people who actually believe the goal of Bitcoin is to end fiat. Even in this trailer, only @npub1t28…nkzs said it explicitly, I wouldn't be surprised if all these others were more worried about other things that aren't clear and didn't care if Bitcoin remained a niche useless rock forever.

You are right. I only saw the first minutes and thought you were going the stratum v2 route only. Nice video 🤙

I also find Spinoza deeply interesting, but I definitely feel more at home with existentialism.
@nprofile…0ex5 Did you delete your magazine? Or doesn't it just showbup on the new PressStr page? I had to make a new page because uploading suddenly didn't work when trying to implement a better progress bar. Or I hit the 100 MB limit of blossom.ditto.pub

I made a privacy focused app for analyzing blood work. It's similar to https://getbased.health, but simpler. Currently, you have to run the app locally and also have Ollama running on your machine. So there's more steps to get the app up and running, but the privacy guarantees are better and you can run the app completely offline once you have everything set up. The app gives you insights about specific lab panels as well as trends in your overall health and specific health markers. You can also chat about a specific lab panel or trends of a specific health marker. I've been using gemma4:26b-mlx with the app which works great on my Mac Mini M4 Pro with 64 GB of memory. I was originally using qwen3.6:27b which gave me good insights, but was really slow. gemma4:26b-mlx is a lot faster and generates responses similar to what I was getting from qwen. The repo includes a /compare-live-evals skill that can be used to help you choose what model works best on your machine. I currently only have live evals for panel chats though. I'm planning to add live evals for trend chats soon.

I think the four year cycle still exists because our political system in the United States is also a four year cycle to an extent. We get at least lately a different president every four years and it just goes back and forth between the two major parties and the four-year cycle is indicative of market during those policy changes that the different parties make and their ethos of how to run the country

I agree. You have to find a good functional medicine practice, they take that exact approach. We switched to that years ago and are much happier.
Yes but the doctors get kickbacks from big pharma in the first place. Not to mention they are brainwashed during school for years before they even interact with the patients, which are also referred to as clients.

Most people think about their employer’s health insurance plan options first and the HSA second.
SOUND HSA starts with a different question: what kind of health savings account do you want to keep building over time?

📚 Readers' Friday Book Club Recap!
This week, we explored Chapter 7: The Real Cost of Big Blocks from Hijacking Bitcoin by Roger Ver and Steve Patterson, revisiting one of Bitcoin's most influential scaling debates.
Key takeaways from today's discussion:
🔸 Scaling is a trade-off. Every design decision affects decentralization, security, and usability.
🔸 Technology evolves. The chapter argues that storage and bandwidth costs continue to decline, making larger blocks more feasible over time.
🔸 Node accessibility matters. A key question remains: who should be able to run a full node, and what level of hardware should that require?
🔸 Ideas shape Bitcoin. The Blocksize Wars weren't just about megabytes, they reflected different visions for Bitcoin's future.
🔸 History still matters. Understanding these debates helps us better evaluate today's discussions around scaling, Lightning, and Bitcoin's long-term evolution.
Whether you agreed with every argument or challenged them, the conversation reminded us why reading different perspectives makes us better Bitcoiners.
📖 Missed this session? Join us next Friday as we continue reading, asking better questions, and learning together.
See you at the next Readers' Friday Book Club! ⚡🧡

It’s not a free lunch. That data is necessary for low cost transactions and Bitcoin being used as a medium of exchange. Without it every other shitcoin would be cheaper to use as money. And nostr wouldn’t even be able to run zaps lol
This anti-White loon thinks that Jews are White -- they're not. He is also operating under the delusion that people can be blocked on Nostr. He is the quintessence of the censorious mentality from which we are finally liberating ourselves. As long as people like him have zero presence or power in our societies, they are harmless.

Cardano Transitions to Decentralized Engineering Model, ADA Eyes Upgrade
Input Output Global (IOG) will transfer control of Cardano's core blockchain infrastructure to external firms starting August 2026, marking a shift to a fully decentralized engineering model. This transition, spanning through 2027 and overseen by community bodies, includes management of the Haskell node, Plutus, Daedalus wallet, and Hydra technology by firms like Se7en Labs and Teragone. The move signifies the completion of Cardano's Voltaire era.
The network is also set to implement the Van Rossem hard fork on July 18, introducing Protocol Version 11 with enhanced Plutus functions to lower smart contract costs. Despite recent market underperformance, these fundamental upgrades and future scaling solutions like Leios are seen as potential catalysts for ADA's price recovery.
