I would like to extend my deepest apologies, when the bear said to me that preventing forest fires was my sacred duty, I didn't really take him seriously. I was just a kid at the time and it seemed ludicrous to me that the protection of the forest from fires would fall on me and me alone. Frankly, I've done almost nothing in all this time to stop forest fires aside from the basic fire safety caution. I now realize my grave error.

I believe you will still be able to download apks without google's registered signatures but google will cause friction initially. You'll need to turn on developer mode, allow unverified packages and wait 24 hours to finally be able to download unregistered apps.
