are you sure you actually enjoy open protocols and being in proximity to other people's free choice in how they use them?
if something **can** be built, then on a long enough timeline, it **will** be built (good thing, too! the opposite would be a sign of a dead protocol).
you have to be comfortable accepting that the future will be filled with features you dislike and plan steer away from. any other posture is just training yourself to prefer closed platforms - which is exactly where you'll naturally end up.
