VC is a fake profession too imo 😂🤣 fiat paper pushers
You can iterate a suspension bridge by building smaller suspension bridges, learning how they break, and scaling up according to known laws.
But you're right that any large scale bridge has to be validated when it's drawn, not after it's built.
@npub12rz…j7ns lemme know when you’re back 🥲
I think it can be like using computer aided simulation or design tools. But the big difference there is that there's a ton of testing and design work going on. Like you don't just shit something out and call it a day. Presumably mechanical engineers apply an understanding of physics, math, etc and use tools to test their assumptions and aid them in engineering rather than having the computer do it all. You wouldn't be an engineer at that point. Even a technician (in any field) should be more capable than that.
I think it's more than that.
A dialogue and argument can set out abstract rules. But engineering is the creation of systems that don't care about logic, only physical laws. The dialogue can help you identify how things broke and learn physical laws. But at the end of the day you need to test what you make against nature. A metaphorical dialogue with God.
Not at all 😬
Unless your field is ballistic missiles. Then the goal is to move fast and break things.
Software is a fake profession 😂
That's why I'm so careful with LLM code. It can help you think or it can replace your thinking with its own. But this thing has no concept of reality, and software is just a simulation of reality. Software needs a human to set it's rules or they'll all be nonsense.
If your LLM is generating code faster than you can understand it, imo you're not "building" anything. If writing software can be called building at all.
The Post Office? Social security?
Here's a list from A.I.:
https://blossom.primal.net/6eb29dd74b629f14ba5804537079f272dbcbc48a95be999cb22f7738062c732b.jpg
Yeah we have a few that covered this idea to some extent, but not with articles showing people who died because of software bugs. I'm really glad he did that. It stuck with me more than anything else. Lots of testing based assignments. We don't have the equivalent of ABET though so the quality or content varies wildly in CS programs. That was actually part of the discussion (whether we should have professional self-regualtion and standards).
I didn't know that, or maybe forgot. Weird
It's called an MIT license 😂
The dress is perfect for the party.
I'm all for vibing dumb shit. But I think an engineer should have a deep understanding of the design and function of safety critical software they work on. And vibing also doesn't really do anything novel. It just spits out what has already been done. Which is great. It's a great tool for certain uses. But a responsible engineer knows the difference and a lot of the hype misses that entirely. I'm afraid it will eventually infect safety critical software.

Not all clients have an option for example. Can't see it as an option in jumble. I know wisp and amethyst do. Don't use ditto enough or damus to know personally,
Just with the proliferation of NWC and one click zaps most dont even see the option. That's all.

That's actually a great class for an undergrad computer science student.
My degree was in mechanical so that was just every class for me. Bridges killing people, machinery killing people, electrical systems killing people, etc. it was just the reality of the profession. Safety and professionalism is always a top priority.
Mostly that it's not easy comparing the field to other hard branches of engineering like civil. It's hard as hell to regulate and when you try, it usually has really bad consequences. Which I think is true. The middle approach was to have certain products themselves placed under guidelines rather than software as a whole. But software would be part of that product for testing and proving safety. I think medical devices were an example.
I'd trust that guy over any professional senior level software developer. Encabluator science is well known and Rockwell is the industry leader in their design and manufacture.

A $41 pizza order in 2010 morphed into the most expensive lunch in human history. That single transaction now haunts markets and defines the very soul of Bitcoin. This is not just a quirky origin story, it is a brutal lesson in vision, patience, and the punishing pace of digital scarcity.

And you're right. That class, along with several others, made me draw a personal distinction between developers and engineers. And I guess vibers now. Especially when working on software for things like planes and medical devices. One of the main points of the class was to implement design and test protocols so we didn't kill people. Our professor even showed us examples of poor software killing people. It was quite impactful for me.
This is how you morons sound outside your echo chamber.

Funny enough, this was a topic covered in an undergrad software engineering course I took 😂
Here's an industrial pump. It was vibed with Claude and if it explodes and kills a maintenance guy, that's a feature not a bug. Teehee. Pump science is just soooo early haha.

Most of what passes as software "engineering" would likely end in professional liability lawsuits in real world engineering.

Shiva laughs because judgement without truth is comedy.
Christ remembers because mercy without memory is cheap theatre.
Empire trembles because the receipts do not disappear.
Bring your stones.
Bring your noise.
Bring your final word.
But if mercy is beyond you,
at least bring the truth.
Not of this world.
Go in peace.

Yeah fucking right. No one is good enough to be perfectly on time always. That's the whole point of being early. Anyone who says they have a perfectly optimized schedule is full of shit.
This is one of the quickest ways to end up on my shit list. Can't stand it.
I can imagine the engineers at Nissan working around the clock to design vehicles that are asinine to work on. It had to be exhausting analyzing every component to figure out how to make everything a pain in the ass to service.
My point is technology grows, changes, innovates, and has tradeoffs.
Other chains serve purposes that Bitcoin can’t, and Bitcoin does things other coins can’t.
If we all embraced the Bitcoin only type of thinking to everything the world would never have innovated because the first mover is “the better product” in every use case.
For example, BitTorrent has a practical use since it’s used in conjunction with torrents, & while it may be feasible on Bitcoin, Bitcoin is a monetary network first or so in theory, it could also be a data chain but it seems like the consensus is people typically see Bitcoin for financial transactions than as a programmable money.
