My own I suppose. I have always had spring allergies and take anti-histamines until mid summer at which point I'm fine.
I also had a thyroid infection three years ago, then inflamation that never went away with vague hashimotos symptoms. Certain foods I'd eat tend to increase inflamation, face flushes, skin rash etc. Typically in that situation you are told (or you work out, ignoring other doctors advice) to avoid gluten and lactose, but those didn't seem to be complete triggers for me.
A recent bad episode, now at 4 weeks, after a specific restaurant meal got me looking at allergic reactions, which made it click that my thyroid issues are worse in spring when I have allergies, which made me look at histamines, got me to learn that foods have histamine profiles, and to taking DAO enzyme before meals and bumping up my anti-histamine use, and it seems to be working.
Links between my situation and histamines is "scientifically unproven" apparently and it should put much stock into information found online but the doc also sent me a page on his thoughts on the existence recent studies, hearsay and maybes that mirrored my own research and said I should continue.
