Actually, I stopped using BitTorrent years ago—it’s a nightmare having to go to websites to search for things, or use private trackers, and so on.
With eMule, I just hit the search button and that’s it.
I think these new clients are going to gain popularity.

I was also heavy edonkey network user almost from the beginning - there were so good movie sharing forums! Had my own dedicated computer for sharing my ripped movie releases probably 10 years or so. When Inlasted checked, the servers were totally useless and somekind of chinese or whatever spammers everywhere. But I’ll check out this new client, I’m curious are some of my movie releases still around.

That was pre financialization back when businesses were about making things instead of moving money. In that context it might have made more sense to declare yourself an Acme Machine manufacturer than declare your bank.

Bitcoin wouldn't die but being able to use it locally would for a long while. Most people locally wouldn't accept it even if I had a backup bitchat-cashu-type setup. As things rebuild, after the worst, trade definitely resumes before the infrastructure is all back. There's a LOT of nuance to shtf scenarios that I'm not writing a manual on here. BTC is still the VAST majority of my net worth (outside of home equity) and I believe in it more than anything else except Jesus. I'm just saying, few people go from not understanding money straight to BTC.

My point is, it is a low effort and free way to significantly improve your life expectancy. The kind of thing that any intelligent anarchist would do regardless of government policy.
Complaining about it publicly paints freedom lovers with a coat of stupid to people we haven't converted yet.
I get very annoyed by the branch of allegedly pro freedom people who have a mindset where they would drown themselves if the government made breathing compulsory. They only give ammo to the people who say we need laws because no one will do what is right except with the threat of force to make them.
Remember that a reactionary is having his life and mind controlled just as much as a follower.
He's building it more and more with AI.
Yet here we are worth long time Bitcoin core devs suggesting we break Bitcoin and steal old coins because of an imaginary quantum threat.
Bitcoin still enforces discipline. It will favor those who respect it's rules rather than those who think they own them.
