cara, fazer omelete nem classifica como saber cozinhar.. é o basico do basico de sobrevivencia! Meu filho com 7 anos ja sabia fazer!
nostr is just websockets and json, those aren't going anywhere
Yea a `clink_offer` instead of `lud16` would work just as well in kind-0, discussed this with someone today actually
Grok had to publicly ask Tatum on a date for me by proxy just to get him to check his nostr notifications
#nevent1q…2wh4
Lmao Tatum told me he doesn’t even check his nostr
… @nprofile…9lre would be great for a dating show host because he’s been going strong trying to hook me and Tatum up for a whole year now
Give this man a tv show
Shiloh Hill is such a G because every 6 months or so he does some weird hacker shit on the dark web and stresses me out for his life and I’m like “you’re stressing me out” and he just laughs about it 😂
And honestly, what a great WWE showman and overall professional athlete
This isn't confusing to Protestants, he is being dense. Salvation is a past present and future thing.
I was saved when I accepted Christ.
I am being saved every day.
I will be saved when he returns.
I’m new and don’t know anyone. What’s not to like?
Their value only fluctuates alongside the BTC price so long as the tokens remain directly redeemable from the mint for the same amount of sats.
This is actually directly comparable with greenbacks, at least the Demand Note versions issued from 1861-1862, which were redeemable for gold or silver. As long as the US Treasury was able to meet the demand for redemption, they maintained value parity with the monetary metals they represented. The problem arose when the Treasury's gold and silver reserves began to dwindle and redemption of the Demand Notes was suspended in December of 1861. This caused them to trade in the market at a discount, because folks weren't sure if/when those notes could be redeemed again.
The next version of the greenbacks, issued from 1862-1865, were not redeemable for gold or silver, so their value wasn't pegged to anything, and their purchasing power dwindled as more and more of them were printed, because they were only backed by "the credit of the US government."
Ecash can work like either one of these. Cashu is intended to work like the first one, with tokens being directly redeemable gor sats. So long as the mint is able to meet the demand for redemption, the tokens will maintain value parity with the sats they represent. If the mint is unable to meet those demands, though, the value of tokens issued by that mint will go straight to zero.
Technically, a mint could issue tokens that aren't pegged to any underlying asset, but there would be no reason for those tokens to have any value in such a case. Individual mints can't inspire the same confidence as the "credit of the US government" could back in the day.
The value of a currency is largely based on the confidence holders of that currency have that others will accept it as a form of payment for goods and services. Greenbacks only kept what little value they had in the end because the US government's legal tender laws ensured that they would be accepted as payment, even with nothing backing them after redemption was suspended.
Ecash tokens don't enjoy that privilege. They only work as currency because they can be redeemed for sats as they are spent. Most people who accept Bitcoin for goods and services aren't interested in being paid in tokens from some random Cashu mint. They want to receive sats via Lightning, on-chain, or maybe, in very rare instances, ecash tokens issued by their own preferred mint. Thankfully, Cashu mints can facilitate that in real time, so long as they have the Bitcoin in their custody necessary to meet the demand for redemptions.
If they don't, and they have to set transaction limits or suspend redemptions, or charge large fees for payments that leave the mint, then exactly the same thing will happen to the value of that mint's tokens as what happened to the value of greenbacks, except much faster and more completely, since there is no reason to have confidence in some random mint operator to make things right.
That's not to say there aren't any benefits to ecash over greenbacks, though. First, because redemption back into sats can occur instantly and on demand, this tends to keep mint operators more honest, because everything will implode on them quickly if they start rehypothcating. Also, if a mint does fail or even intentionally rug its users, it only affects those using that particular mint, and not any other mints, though it will likely, and rightly, shake people's confidence in other mints. Users can also spread out their risk by using multiple different mints, so only a portion of their funds are relying om the honesty of any single mint operator.
For that reason, it could be said that though greenbacks and ecash are fundamentally the same thing, both being tokens issued by a central authority that can arbitrarily inflate their supply, they function very differently in practice, due to who that central authority is in each case (government vs. random individual or company), and how readily redeemable ecash is for sats in real time as it is spent.
Ecash also has benefits over other types of custodial services when it comes to privacy and the ability to make offline payments.
I think this is directionally correct, just the other day I ported nymrank from NIP-85 to a regular API because NIP-85 and relays generally are bad at delivering the ranks and other metadata of 200k+ keys... bulk is needed for a lot of things
Bulk reconciliation still needed a gzipped file endpoint to avoid pagination hell, but this may be a good start for the intraday deltas
Will have a closer look at some point and compare our shapes, would be good to have this standardized

That’s got to be a joke, right?
It was like an early OTC P2P dealer, some ran like small business where they would basically take your keys over and pay cash for your bitcoin
But the op returns seem to point to that
Yeah, I see the picture, thanks.
Damn, I just imagined how in the nearest future/now normal debating goes meta level into "now would you mind to put your comment to your favorite LLM + 'so CO2 increase is actually not an issue?' and respond to their respond to make the whole conversation efficient". So depressing.
That's not passive aggression towards your response or request to keep answering; I just literally reflect on my own imagination.
A lot of things were left a mystery for me about your mindset, since there are things that were answered indirectly or partially.
Anyway thanks for maintaining calm during the conversation, this one is a big deal for me in whatever disagreements.
Just to be clear, as I said I'm not interested in attacking you in anyway. I might express myself through provocative art in a relation to this discussion, but that wouldn't be an aggressive act either.
Looks like a old buy back dealer
I fear there will be only a negligible difference between the state now and then. What motivation would Google have to do otherwise? I want to introduce Linux on Mobile to the family as a daily driver, but I'm afraid that my sadomasochism is not strong enough to enjoy the amount of pain this will cause... We are approaching dark times, I'm afraid.

A message to whomever is using a crawler on my Dagztrial space:
1) I can see that in my analytics
2) I added a robots.txt to root so that you can more comfortably crawl it and should stop seeing a 404 returned
You’re welcome.
Working on making these 2 subsections of my interactive nostr privacy guide more normie friendly so if the link breaks it’ll be back up by tonight

Thank god he didn't mention monero

Has anyone actually run a full count on how many times in how many songs Drake mentioned Bitcoin on his 3 album drop the other night…
