ok, that's a meaningful critique of Bip110. They literally are preventing a real fix from being implemented in the mean time.
however, if it took them 1 year + to get BIP110 out, how long will it take to get the next update out.
it does kinda remind me of a vaccine subscription though. "Take this for 1 year and next year we will have 2.0". and before you know it, we are always just waiting like cattle for the next "upgrade" that will be just in time to protect us from the next Big Threat.
we have such short attention spans anyway.
so we get a 1000 year project hooked on 1 year upgrades complete with left versus right social engineering, charismatic political figures and wedge issues.
