For Bitcoin, I'd be nervous to keep keys that hold larger amounts on a device with WIFI capabilities. On the other hand, for keys holding smaller amounts for everyday use, this seems very appropriate and convenient, including the choice between QR and local network.
For Nostr, I'd again be nervous about holding my identity-securing key on a device with WIFI. But for my everyday signing key, a device that can do NIP-46 remote signing over WIFI seems ideal. As we had already discussed, this is complementary to the separation between identity key and signing key that I've implemented with Inkan.
Part of the reason I'm curious about all of this is that airgapped signing of certain transactions is part of the core idea of Inkan. The transactions that need to be signed in an airgapped environment are delegations and revocations of signing authority between key pairs, and these then need to be recorded on Ethereum.
I made the "Inkan Management Utility" (https://www.inkan.cc/settings/inkan-management-utility) to perform this airgapped signing. It's a working prototype / proof of concept at this point, certainly not an audited product. It's meant to be run on an airgapped Linux system (as I mentioned I use a de-networked version of Tails), but I'm sort of curious whether these types of key delegation transactions could ultimately also be signed on a bespoke signing device of the kind you're making.

SpaceX scrubs Starship launch after some of its engines didn't start
SpaceX called off a test flight of its powerful Starship rocket and Super Heavy booster as the countdown clock reached zero Thursday at the company's spaceport in South Texas.
The launch team at Starbase, Texas, just north of the US-Mexico border, aimed to launch the more than 400-foot-tall rocket at 5:45 pm local time (6:45 pm EDT; 22:45 UTC). The countdown proceeded smoothly throughout the day, culminating in the loading of more than 11.5 million pounds of liquid methane and liquid oxygen into the two-stage rocket.
But the computers controlling the countdown called an abort during the Super Heavy booster's engine startup sequence. SpaceX scrubbed the launch attempt, and engineers began preparations to drain the rocket's propellant tanks. Officials did not immediately announce when they plan to try to launch again.

The rate of improvement is incredible though.

Where my mind is at with respect to dark matter is the historical chain (the bits without sats). From within the ledger, we can only see the active states of energy/matter (the sats). We do not see the casual chain of entangled history that leads to the present state of matter. The path is hidden, yet necessary for conservation/logic of the chain (just as we can’t delete UTXOs). Each bit of value is like a wall we cannot peer beyond to see the history from within. The wall moves with the bit.
When we look out to the cosmos, we see the “active utxo set”. All unspent states of energy/matter distributed across all points in memory (keyspace) and all blocks of time. We are persistent in time, meaning we observe from the tip of the chain, moving away from static unspent memory crystalized in time at the speed of light (speed of memory).
If this thesis is true, then dark matter must be the historical bits of memory without Kelvin that can no longer be accessed from within the ledger. Only because of Bitcoin can we even reason about the existence of this historical chain. But we know logically these states MUST be preserved for the system to have integrity. Kelvin is the active memory.
Taproot throws a huge wrench into this because I am still limited in my understanding of it. I feel you may be on to something but I cannot pretend i can fully understand currently😵💫 I may have to bounce some ideas off of Nick to see what he thinks. The more I dig, the more it seems taproot is rotten. But I don’t truly know.
