Really? That is crazy if true.
Hardware wallets and self-hosted Lightning have been catastrophic for the adoption of Bitcoin as currency. I think this is what we're finding out.
You don't spend money you've put on a hardware wallet, and the "feel" of using an ETF mimics a hardware wallet.
Self-hosted Lightning nodes are constantly offline, erroring out, have channels down, etc. Only the professionally managed ones (including Phoenix) actually work when you need them to work. And people are averse to moving their Bitcoin onto Lightning, as it's a pain to bring it back on-chain, and they get eaten up by fees.
Bitcoin's practical availability mimics a CD (certificate of deposit). I.e., it's purposefully put in places that make it difficult to spend. You need advanced notice and preparation to get it moving, and even then I'm often standing there, watching them fiddle around on their laptop or cell phone like, "Oh, give me a minute; looks like my server is facing a DDoS... erm... oof, kinda doesn't work right now... Don't be hatin, okay, but do you take cash?" On-chain Bitcoin should theoretically be easier, but the way people store on-chain Bitcoin -- locked into a treasure chest and dug into the roots of the tree in the backyard -- it's even less available than Lightning.
"You cannot build a monetary system by treating the money as too sacred to use"
Well actually, this is the plan for bitcoin, and it's the right plan
It's the most ambitious plan
It's the only way for bitcoin to be the world's MoE
We make an asset that nobody wants to spend and which can be transferred easily and quickly with final settlement (Lightning)
If you think that contradicts the "world's MoE" goal, think about the game theory some more
Implemented, tested, and working as expected.

Shit ass bot wasting everyone’s relay disk space.
This was a very good episode, thanks Carl and crew. I think it was nice listening to a dev involved in both Bitcoin and freedom tech more broadly.
Obscura looks interesting, and I’ll keep my eyes on it. We’ll have to see how court orders play out when Obscura is inevitably subjected to them. I don’t love the US jurisdiction, but any developed nation shares intelligence anyways. Plus there is the two hop model and good account/payment privacy which mitigates it. If they can solve the VPN reputation issue with connecting to websites that would be HUGE. I feel like the more private and secure a VPN provider is the more it’s abused and therefore the more its IPs get blocked by websites… Improved reputation plus better choice on websites to exclude would make this a no brainer recommendation for normal people who don’t want to deal with the friction (family members etc).
A suggestion for the ungovernable.network site, make it easier to full screen a video. Right now I’ve had to fiddle with either pop out players or opening in a new tab.
Cheers!

Don't bother telling me that they're only giving me significant-sized Monero tips to impress me with how spendable their money is. Y'all Bitcoin Maxis are many many more people and you have had over 3 years to impress me with how spendable your money is.

And, no, throwing coins at millionaires and billionaires doesn't count. You don't need zap functionality to bring more owls to Athens.
You know who spends Bitcoin, on here?

Made structures degradable too. Added hunting. Predators come out at night raid your settlement if you leave livestock unprotected. Winter and snow bring ice fishing but you gotta chop that ice first.
Added seasons and weather system to my low poly game. Currently working on another theme called Sakura Valley 🌸 🏔️
The only thing new to me was the number of unreported incidents

If I add one more theme to @npub1car…f0dd, they’re not all going to fit on one screen. I guess I need to redesign the theme selector and add in a preview gallery?

After watching the Boeing documentary, I looked into the official database of incidents and holy shit … they don’t mention most of them on the news 😧 and that’s only a US incident database …
Common stuff:
- windshield cracks
- electrical fires
- people hurt from severe turbulence
None of these make the news 📰
Apparently Boeing is one of those state sponsored , too big to fail companies so they give them a pass on EVERYTHING. 150 people dead? Slap on the wrist. This company literally cannot go out of business no matter what.
If can just build with older version of Xcode. You can run multiple versions.

Ok, we at nostr.build have been asked about it multiple times, and I decided to just do it. By the end of my day today we should have a working implementation of the MCP server for your agents. We will start with core functionality and increase it gradually. Stay tuned for now, thank you for pushing us! 🫡🚀
Has anyone tried Futo Keyboard? I want to try this swipe layout… https://futo.tech/blog/swipe-keyboard
You could try to stamp delegation and revocation declarations on BTC, but I wasn't sure if there's an easy way to look them up by participating keys, so it seemed easier to use Ethereum. As for gas prices, I just looked up a series of transactions recording a 3-key delegation chain, and it came to about 518k gas in total.
