I've had a lot of people asking me whether they should run Core or Knots.
That's the wrong question.
The question isn't, 'Which tribe should I join?' The question is, 'What's true?'
Don't hand your mind over to maintainers. Don't hand it over to influencers. Don't hand it over to the loudest voice on your feed. Use the mind God gave you. Read. Test. Verify.
Some of you want me to endorse your side so you can stop thinking. I'm not going to do that.
Truth doesn't become true because the majority believes it. And it doesn't become false because only a few can see it.
If Core is right on a matter, then follow what's right. If Knots is right on a matter, then follow what's right. If either one drifts from the truth, don't follow them there.
Some of you have made open-source projects into your identity. You defend your preferred implementation with more passion than you defend honesty, humility, or your neighbor.
You say, 'Don't trust. Verify.' That's a good principle. So live by it. Verify the code. Verify the claims. Verify your assumptions. And while you're at it, examine your own heart with the same rigor.
It's easier to spot a bug in someone else's software than pride in your own soul.
Bitcoin wasn't given to you so you could spend your days fighting over banners. It was given to ordinary people so they wouldn't have to surrender truth to authority.
Don't replace one authority with another.
Be people who love truth more than victory. Who would rather be corrected than applauded. Who are willing to change their minds when the evidence demands it.
That's the kind of person who can be trusted—whether they're reviewing code, mining blocks, or raising a family.
