When I used to day trade futures it was a scientifically validated concept that if you were always in the majority you would lose money.
Or a Alcuin put it:
"We should not listen to those who like to affirm that the voice of the people is the voice of God, for the tumult of the masses is truly close to madness."

generally, yes
this is the same job but we pivoted to a different producer
I tried telling this to most of my family. Their immediate response was I’d be bored if I achieve that or what you gonna do after.

I will investigate, thank you for the recommendation 🙂

Either way it's a good point. If it can be attacked, it will be. Might as well deal with it earlier than later

Spent the entire day wandering around Prague.
Time for a photo dump? I think so.

Can't be helped.. ngmi. Who covers the deficit? Who pays the bill?
You're probably right. I'm usually delusionally optimistic 🤣
May you receive your reward.
This is a fantastic plan 😁👏
I'm in the same boat. I've basically created a moat which is great at times but gets boring
Relays and Webs of Trust are mostly what my feed is. It's great, but it's very hard to discover people.
I really liked the hashtags as a way to discover people. Then I follow them and they're in my web of trust right? Maybe even convince them to get on a decent relay.
But that's the bot we're talking about. The #philosophy and other hashtags I used to follow all are almost entirely this bot now. I tried blocking it or muting it, but it comes up with new nyms or something because it never stays blocked.
I eventually just unfollowed all hashtags which I think is a shame because discoverability here is challenging. I need new content to boost. No one wants to exclusively hear me moan about being hit by a car for weeks on end 🤣
Perhaps. I'm skeptical, but that's certainly possible.

I'm lucky, no smoke in my part of the country. No smoke & great weather. Only a handful of days above 30 so far. El Nino makes for good weather here, likely a mild winter coming too 😗👌

Before refrigeration people used to make large blocks of ice in the winter and store them in an ice bed into the summer.

I use this
Some people think IPFS doesn't have to scale and get adopted enough to replace the HTTP web; they claim it can just be a cold "archive for rare datasets" or a niche backup protocol forever.
The first thing is that these people don't really care about "archiving" anything; they just want a low-maintenance, static dump for data they rarely touch, so the discourse is already skewed from the start.
Meanwhile, all the real utility IPFS has today and all its technological momentum came from the expectation that it would be used as a living, decentralized web (i.e., dynamic content delivery, peer-to-peer applications, censorship-resistant routing) at some point.
Because random content identifiers (CIDs) and cryptographic hashes stored on DHTs are just worthless bytes if nodes stop hosting them. If we stop making moves towards the only real goal (widespread, active dWeb adoption and active node participation), then eventually the network degrades, routing latency spikes, and all the side "permanent archive" discourses are exposed to reality.
Remember those legacy web tech traditionalists who used to say IPFS was just an impractical, slow toy—the people who claimed centralized cloud buckets would always win? Their takes were nonsense to me at first because I had in my mind that everybody understood IPFS would eventually undergird a local-first, sovereign web, so there was no way this was a fragile experiment; everybody would benefit, and even the smallest home node would gain total data autonomy.
But no, those skeptics just assumed IPFS would never become the standard layer for active data exchange, and with that assumption, their reasoning makes perfect sense: if IPFS doesn't become a living web protocol, then it is nothing but a slow, over-engineered BitTorrent variant with broken links—as most dead Web3 storage projects clearly are.
And now we have all these self-described decentralized tech enthusiasts who think the same, content to let it sit as a stagnant museum for static files. Don't be one of them. And please make them wrong again.

Like just sheer pettiness 🤣
Maybe they're trying to point out possible attack vectors in a non malicious way. Like they need to be annoying enough to be fixed to make Nostr stronger 💪
In some smaller rural towns you still can find a bar that will let you smoke, but not in the city.
My favorite was the awkward period with smoking & non smoking sections, seperated by nothing. It was so obviously useless, but the law 😂
The url that we serve is just serving redirects to the real content. Gives us flexibility to keep cache unfragmented and all served from a single source of truth
I didn’t use it for two year because of shinobi’s bad takes. I don’t know why they let him speak because all his predictions are wrong
Is there an exemption for Zuma?
Joking aside, you don't see this as more general crackdown then?
Cultural strategy doesn’t get you out of it either. You can want to beat your outgroup and still not lie to their face, still not use people, still not kick someone when they’re down. Those aren’t universalist ideals, they’re just what functioning humans do even in a fight.
History’s full of people who won without needing the hanging. Strategy and decency aren’t opposites, they’re just uncomfortable together sometimes.
I dont think it's necessarily always about stopping Nostr. Just annoying us out of spite is my guess
It's been a thing as long as I've been here. The porn bots, etc.

You have to understand that this assumes a cultural strategy.
What if my cultural strategy is to actively undermine the outgroup?
I don't disagree with you, but there is an assumption of universalism there, and that is not a universal mode of operation.
So....better gear up brother, we have a crusade or 2 to go on...oh and a whole lot of hanging, because that is how those norms got established in the first place🤷♂
I remember smoking in restaurants. How far we've fallen.
