There's plenty of people who don't want to work. This isn't just immigration issue, it's result of promising free according to tribe. "We steal off the white people to give to you" was cover for politicians pillaging the nation, but many of the people believed the free. Always beware of the free and don't allow it to make you hate "them" instead of realising the cost.

Depends on the client, I cant try nostur but Yea you can write to it, others can also tag you and write to it (it has personalized wot turned on by default for those direct posts but no filters for the feed itself, that depends on your own relay settings and your follow list). I don't use it as a main relay its not in my relay list, I only use it like a cache.

Imagine a forcefield bubble. Imagine it starting at the top of your head, and streaming out and up like you're a fountain, then spiraling around your body to come back into your feet. I guess what I mean is, I already have a bunch of relays, and I use this one as my main "browsing" a feed type source, because yes it saves TONs of bandwidth and battery. I rarely use a client that assembles a feed, because it's just faster this way and I feel like it works just as well by offloading the construction of the feed to the relay. I've used nostr like this for a year+ now, I used to run this same setup on my raspberry PI and I liked it so much I decided to finally make it a service.

It's not fictional, this happened. But you're right, it probably happened in 2010, not 2009. I didn't solo mine, but on a pool.
2009 was when I created the wallet. I know this because it was when I received the first email on my current e-mail address. This e-mail superseded the one I saved the wallet keys on.
And chill, dude, I'm not claiming to be a seasoned Bitcoin enthusiast. I played with it in the very beginning, forgot about it, LOLed when people started hyping in 2017, then got into Monero around 2019.

I think it is, I use a client (RelayTools-android) that only connects to one relay at a time for it's feed, so I can use less data, check my notifications, and have a quicker app. Then it connects to other relays only when I'm posting, to send the post. If apps support this type of mode, it can be helpful yes. I think amethyst might partially support it. It's like having a fast cache of the notes from your network, always collecting them in the background for when you want to read them.
My life is very lame at the moment, but it's been the biggest blessing for me personally relative to what came before it.
