My hot take is that hashtags should be replaced with notes metadata.
Hashtags don’t serve a purpose since I don’t think that many ever really used them even on Twitter/X.
But metadata does since you can add different ways your note could be interpreted, & have hidden hashtags.
So anyone looking for the hashtag can see the note without the hashtag running the note.

People in the US can now ask covered platforms to remove non consensual intimate imagery, including AI generated sexual deepfakes. Platforms must remove valid reports, plus known identical copies, within 48 hours.
That matters. A fake nude is not just “content”. It is identity theft, sexual abuse, coercion, and a loss of control over your own body online.
The NO FAKES Act pushes the same fight into another area: voice, likeness, image, and digital replicas. It would recognise that your identity should not be harvested, cloned, sold, or used by AI systems without consent.
Both raise hard questions around enforcement and speech, but the principle is simple: consent should travel with your body, your face, your voice, and your creative identity.
