I like it. I have a couple of squares I can test.
This is how it feels when I receive zaps on a Saturday.

This is some type of black magic https://npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z.blossom.band/1f21339492768efe1d96890c5f6f596468826745ffca6ccaac4ef73496ed2c59.mp4

The payment targets are really cool! Maybe if someone doesn't have zaps set up then the zap button can open their Payment target screen. And then the payment target screen can also open the wallet like @nprofile…n0es got working with cake wallet. Lots of people are trying out Monero for the first time with the payment targets and cake wallet swap.
I want to zap more but the nwc wallets feel too janky to trust with more value. The zaps seem to be working sometimes, but it always feels like a gamble if it's going to work or not. The Amethyst wallet display screen makes it feel especially janky where the wallets time out all the time. I've only seen the wallet screen load the wallet amount and transactions correctly like once or twice out of dozens of tries over the past few weeks, waiting for minutes each time. I have tried minibits and their mint and I have also tried with ecash app wallet and it has the same issues with different mints and relays. I have Tor on and I've tried with various configurations of internal, orbot, vpn mode.
Its also hard to find more nwc wallets. For example Minibits doesn't list nwc as a feature when searching on zap store. The whole ecosystem needs more work.

You indicate propose edits uses a locally running ai, but nothing about that in the auto translation from English setting.
Not good....
But not as bad as:
"I don't understand Bitcoin, but let me fix it for you" 🤣
On Amethyst, nobody needs to fight over this :)
The padding is broken/missing on the right when you disable the share button.
You can also disable zaps and use likes only.

Imagine loading your nsec 50 years later and discovering that you have some coins!
The server can be compromised: covertly, financially, technically, morally.
Onchain zaps are also more likely to make you want pineapple on pizza...
Fix your relays contra. :) you only have fountain
Yep, they would also lose their npub cashu if they lose their nsecs.
...and normie users losing their nsecs and thus unbeknownst burning coins is ok?
@nprofile…vhl6 i can't see who is talking here ☝️ i only see a Npub 👀 ? Can i fix this 🤣
The sender never wanted to send coins that would never be redeemed and get burned that's the issue
So I ended up with some onchain sats in my amethyst wallet which I check d after seeing notification. Opened wallet today thinking I'd just send them to you for devs. Amethyst says wallet unavailable 🙄
Yeah, it's funny that people think there aren't other money tied to their nsecs for all of these years. There might be money in any blockchain waiting for people to use the right client to see it.
Yep, I will support cashu as well, I just don't think it actually works. But people can decide to trust the operators if they want. I just want to make sure there is one option that never fails.
Well, you got my point anyway.
Cashu can't even transfer those amounts.
Um.. Don't store your entire lifesavings on LN/Cashu? You don't walk around in a bar with $50k in your wallet, do you?
Because it is a central operator. The coins might not be there if the operator disappears with everybody's coins.
...and npub cash isn't an option because?
That's exactly the tradeoff we are choosing to make things work at all times. The sender wants to send you money. It doesn't matter if you want to receive or not. The money will be there for you if you look for it. If you don't want it, those coins are essentially burned and everyone is a bit richer.
The sender has the freedom to send.
The receiver has the freedom to not receive or not even see it.
Everybody gets what they want out of this.
This is the first time I'm seeing the proponents acknowledge the risks.
To be fair I called it a "terrible idea" but the spirit is the same.
What's your response to this particular UX issue?
#nevent1q…lndl
It was a good summary. But nothing new that I could build on.
Was anything in the essay I wrote helpful?
Neither is helpful at all.
The note I quoted doesn't seem to load for some reason, so I'll share a screenshot instead. https://haven.dergigi.com/3899205b786bcc2891815d748f1b9317bb24dbc31578065990280c988c8a2ecd.jpg
How can someone understand the risks if he seemingly doesn't know what coin selection / "coin control" is? #nevent1q…9u5y
I called the idea stupid.
What you describe is far from trivial, and it doesn't address any of the points I raised in the article, or the terrible cross-client UX it brings.

So, uh, you guys made a risky decision and are using this to motivate other people to develop safer solutions or something? Or am I missing the point?
I see your point, yet I disagree especially because your reacting was immediately contrary. It can be a bad idea if used in the wrong way, but it can't be stopped and it can be use to obfuscate chain txs. If people have a wallet tided to their identities on nostr and never mix with other utxos I see no problem. You receive oc zaps and zap around everything..
Someone should figure out Ambassador QRs so when you download @nprofile…wywf or @nprofile…mh2x from that url, it automatically sets up your relays to match that npub's and follows them and then suggests follows based on that npub, or other config.
paranoid cryptoanarchists
What error are you seeing? As I remember Amethyst possibly made a update such that when users are using Tor, then NWC connections no longer work?
This is something that 99% of the "stupid" population will NEVER do. This is unnatural and anti-human.
