One thing hearing tens of thousands of confessions has taught me over the last 16 years: you can't "fix" anyone. This is particularly hard for us males, who want to take a wrench and hammer to every problem we see.
The good news is that none of us are on to fix anyone else. That's all entirely up to them and their acceptance of the grace required to make a change.
It's all grace. So just love someone in their imperfections, support them, and get out of God's way.
Church and state are two human institutions, both answerable to something outside themselves. Divinity and science aren’t parallel to that at all. Science is a method for measuring the physical world. Divinity is a claim about ultimate reality and moral order. One tells you how fast a ball falls. The other tells you why dropping it on your neighbor is wrong.
Collapsing those into “same thing” doesn’t simplify the argument. It just skips it.
People sometimes only label themselves blessed when money is involved.

I'd debate you, but I have a feeling we are pretty aligned on this one.
All laws are an instantiation of SOMEONE'S morality. The only true morality is God's. Therefore all laws should be an instantiation of God's moral law.
Christian magistrates will more closely apply God's law to the civil spere than non-Christians, all else being equal.
Nevertheless, we should not expect to achieve an ideal instantiation of God's moral law through any human magistrates, since all have remaining corruption, even in the best cases. Yet, this reality does not relieve us from the duty of pursuing the ideal.
No one should understand any of the above to mean that I would favor the establishment of any particular denomination as the official "Church of the United States," nor that civil authority should be subject to ecclesiastical authority by means of church officers ruling over the civil government, nor that I think the state can or should compel faith in Christ. I do not hold to any of those more extreme views.

I guess I would say the ideology of the people, enforced through its government representatives, within a constitutional republic and with the proper separation of church and state would also be cool.
God says government is His servant for good, not His replacement. Romans 13, not romans zero. That’s the whole argument.
Kuyperian sphere sovereignty keeps the state out of the pulpit. Magisterial tradition says the magistrate still answers to God’s moral order in how he governs, not neutral, not godless. I hold both because they’re not actually in conflict. The state stays out of your church membership. The state doesn’t get to pretend morality is up for a vote.
That’s not a guy who wants Hitler with a cross. That’s a guy who thinks government answering to nothing is the actual historical monster. Every regime that erased God from its foundations still enforced a religion. Just called it ideology instead.
