What's funny is several members of my group are board members at the Makerspace. I ask them to use their weight and they're all convinced that the central leadership doesn't like them. Yeah, it's a friend of mine who i inadvertently wound up by simply stating "you know, I don't hate Trump." I clarified that I'm not some fan, but I don't hate him like many people in my region do. Just that statement, as I feel it's sometimes worth hearing for some, as a reminder that not everyone thinks exactly the same, and he is presumably liked by the majority of voters...

Good news. The flow state is available to all age groups. It's fascinating both to experience and to examine. Funny how when you are in it you need no food or drinks. The activity you're engaged in is stimulating enough. This state could last for hours and even days. Makes you wonder what really fuels the body.

It's bizarre to me how the slightest expression of opinions with people on a political topic will so often trigger a cascade of lecturing I didn't ask for, which consists of surface level narratives we've all heard (if we pay any attention to media), presented as if they were deeply reasoned about by the individual lecturing me.
I wonder if one like from caravalhoe is better than no likes at all 🤭

Investing, pursuing FIRE, changing jobs, and buying a home all involve an uncertain future. Waiting for certainty doesn't remove the risk. It can keep you from making a favorable bet because you're afraid of one unfavorable outcome.
Expected value offers a better process. Write down the plausible outcomes, estimate the probability and payoff of each, then multiply and add them together. The result won't make the decision for you, and your estimates won't be perfect. It will force you to compare the upside, downside, and odds in the same frame.
You can make a positive expected value decision and still lose this time. You can also make a reckless decision and get lucky. The result is one data point. The quality of your process is what you can repeat, improve, and compound over time.

It’s weird seeing how finely tuned everything is in patterns.
It’s with a precision that repeats so frequently, one could almost think it was designed (because it was).
To me, I'm leaning towards the idea that these demons are more the parts of yourself that have become cranky after not being listened to for so long. You can not want a bad expression, but a scream is still a cry for help and the integration is acknowledging that deeper part that's trying to communicate, figuring out what it wants and negotiating a better way to surface how it signals those wants. 🫂

Some people are worse than idiots.
Had a pretty annoying convo with a "we already have socialism" type the other day which was pretty annoying. They proclaimed "who do you think pays for the roads?" as a big gotcha to me at one point, and I used all my self control to not roll my eyes.
Took a closer look with help of Claude at the full set of files released, and it looks like there's really not much there. Publicity stunt is a fair assessment imo.
I guess, if there's a leak.
Also the fire alarms exist to yell fire for us now. Automation is a bitch.
