Lots of box caterpillars around again this spring. The ones in the ground were hit bad last year and I have been trying to get them to recover, but it's a bit of an up hill struggle as the soil there sucks and there isn't a lot of it. Yet again the one in the pot that I planted and has had biochar, local microbes from imos and EM from the start is doing great. I should really do a brix reading but I keep forgetting to bring the meter 🤷♂️

When I'm sitting on the ground, my dog will come up from behind and put her head over my shoulder, right next to the side of my face. She doesn't touch me or rest her chin on my shoulder or anything cute. She'll get close enough to feel warmth and maybe whiskers, then she just stands there like, "what are we looking at?" It's cute in its own way but also a little creepy.

I usually don’t share personal things online, but this year has been one of the hardest of my life. I lost my dad.
He was the person I respected the most, feared the most, & always looked up to. It’s hard to put into words how big that loss has been for me.
Most of what I’ve done in life was to make him proud. He had so many dreams for me, & I’ll keep chasing them as if he’s still with me.
I found every color of jasper under the sun, some very nice agates. and most interestingly, basalt with calcified letters and numbers on it. It was my most unexpected find of the day.
