Imagine thinking that one achieves independence from a totalitarian ruler without paying some price for it?
No volatility, no risk, no days of losses, no period of stagnancy, no regulatory risk, no institutions fighting back. Just skipping through meadows and green candles and then throwing in the towel the moment the wind blows.
Bitcoin isn't about getting rich, if that's why you're here then you've lost the plot. Bitcoin is about not being beholden to the waste and corruption of a class of people who live off of monetary fraud. Bitcoin is about PROVING that they cannot dilute us for their wars, they cannot counterfeit for their subsidies, they cannot indebt us and our children and their children to get the lie of "free stuff" today.
Bitcoin is about independence and the risk and costs that come with it. We may get wealthy IF we achieve independence. But we will never get it asking for permission or waiting for green candles before even taking a stance.
Imagine if the American founders had said "we pledge our lives as long as we are comfortable, our fortunes as long as they only go up, and our sacred honor as long as we only benefit from this quest. Otherwise we apologize and ask the King's approval."
Some people may not understand that this is THE battle, and maybe they have no idea how or where they are paying for the corruption of their own society. But they are paying for it nonetheless. Bitcoin is the solution and it's not because its going to go up every day you hold it. Quite literally the opposite in fact. When we take away the power to dilute the money, we force them to come straight to our door with their guns and demand what we have earned directly.
Bitcoin's mission is to destroy the illusion that they are giving us something for free, and prove that the state is a system of violence and the central bank is a system of covert theft at an unheard of scale.
That is the purpose of this tool. It is *independence* through technological rebellion. Not wealth. It is *risking our wealth* for a chance at ending the era of central banking and infinite debts and a world where kids grow up with the poisonous and absurd notion that even as technology becomes more advanced and our capacity to produce grows exponentially, somehow everything still gets "naturally" more expensive and wealth becomes more concentrated.
Nothing could be further from the obvious truth. It is govt debt, the central bank money printer, and the counterfeit class that huddles around them like leeches that suffocate society of what would otherwise be stable and consistent growth in our general prosperity, time, and meaning.
If you are here only because of 50% returns and leave when it falls 25%... we are not the same.

The weirdest game theory incentive for BIP110 is that the more people want to dump BIP110 coins, the more transactions they'll add to the BIP110-chain which presumably will have much lower hash rate. Eventually, the large backlog of transactions will cause higher fees and with it, more incentive for miners to mine that chain.
Depending on the price ratio, this still requires a huge amount of fees to motivate miners to switch. For example, if the price ratio is 10:1, then fees will have to take up 28.125 BTC (28.125 + 3.125~31.25) on the BIP110 chain for similar profits. Which is 28125 sats/vbyte average for the block, which is really, really high, but that's what it'll cost to dump coins at that ratio. Higher ratios require even more fees and lower ratios require less.
tl;dr The more people dump BIP110 coins the more miners are incentivized to mine the BIP110 chain.

When I first saw this design I thought it was horrible. Oh, so these are the only 2 signers in the world? Why are we hardcoding Amber and Primal, including even their logos in Ditto? @npub1ye5…knpr submitted this pull request 2 months ago and kept nagging us about it. Finally I learned how it worked. No, it's actually *detecting automatically* the NIP-55 apps installed on your system and then using their data from the system. Okay, that's better than I thought - new signer apps will show up here automatically. But really, NIP-55? Do we need MORE competing standards for signers? NIP-46 is hard enough. But @npub1scv…68d8 merged it anyway. I was annoyed. Then I used it. It's the greatest thing ever. Everything feels so fast. DMs decrypt instantly. This is the best remote signer UX I've ever seen. Sorry I doubted you.

my @nprofile…uz3y wallet hasn't received a single zap since july 9th. i get zapped but the money never comes in. nothing but problems since the 'upgrade' to spark.
it used to be one of my favorites. now it's slow, bloated, and broken. i'm literally just losing money at this point. what a disaster. it makes me so sad to have lost such a reliable wallet.
