A parrot that quotes Socrates is still just a parrot, not a philosopher. Many of them are just idiots copying a style of talk they don't understand. For proof, I have replies to this post attempting to use the exact techniques I explained on me. Anyone capable of coherent independent thought would move on or vary their tactics.
The origins of the approach are David Dukes successful attempts to create a more marketable Klan. Decades on the average internet poster is just talking in the way their buddies talk that won them over. Literally a meme passing on in a host incapable of understanding how or why it replicated. It makes them feel smart because it tricks people who aren't wise to the game and have their guard down.
My experience is they truly believe it worked on them so it should work on everyone. When it doesn't work, they all reach the same conclusion. Which is why every racist online that gets stood up to by a nym will eventually assume that the other person must be a minority, any white person would obviously see it their way if only they were told.
If you haven’t already, I recommend reading the Peter Principle.
Quick summary: you grow in an organization until you become incompetent and blocks the recompense system to work. More competent people than you are stuck under you.

you can roll out new firmware whatever, that's not going to retroactively fix the entropy of the seed, that was generated on the bugged firmware.
