It's funny, but there's something slightly upsetting about a random person whistling happily. It's very rare, but something about it is objectively annoying. "Oh, look at this person, not a care in the world? Screw them!" Haha...I should work on myself.
As for spewing info at acquaintances, each their own, it doesn't really work for me. If I get genuine interest in one of my pet topics (BTC is best example), then I'll spew stuff, but only if it's more than a passing interest.
As our minds expand, our vision expands with them. For most of human history, we believed reality was limited to what our eyes could see and our senses could perceive. Then we discovered worlds that were always there, hidden in plain sight. A drop of water became an entire universe when we discovered microorganisms. The night sky transformed when we discovered galaxies beyond our own. Invisible forces, particles, waves, and energies revealed themselves as our understanding grew. The universe did not suddenly become larger, our ability to perceive it did. Perhaps there are still layers of reality around us that we cannot yet comprehend, not because they do not exist, but because our tools, senses, and minds have not expanded enough to recognize them. Every discovery reminds us of one thing: what we know is only a small window into what is. As our consciousness evolves, maybe our vision of existence will continue to open, revealing wonders that were always present, waiting for us to learn how to see them.

Honestly as a kid some of it was indeed about getting out and doing some clashing with police. Cheaper than going to a show with a mosh pit, similar adrenaline.
But yea, I don't have much faith in protests without a direct action component exercising actual leverage doing much (aside from being a networking venue -- largely obsolete at that in the 21st century). Sort of like running a UASF client while not being resolved to actually dump the Bitcoin and stick with a resulting split chain if the majority don't come along (and thus eating into their bottom line). Leverage comes from action, not requests.
If all you do is say 'I don't like this' you can't be surprised when people just nod and shrug. Talk's cheap.

i’m learning we are situated in an unusual spot here. the ground is not terribly wet, but it definitely was in the past. the black willows here are 60 feet tall, and have trunks 3ft + across. that isn’t terribly common. the wikipedia entry shows the average black willow which is more shrub-ish. but we border wetlands, so they definitely have roots down to the water table.
blah blah blah, anyway, the point is, ive always noticed when walking under them, it’s unusually cool under them. like more than just shade cool. its weird. wondered if it had something to do with evaporation, as thats the only thing i know which pulls heat out of the air naturally. so, i threw a bunch of hypotheticals at AI, and it came back with:
the trees must be pretty old.
black willows that size can pull a couple hundred liters of water out of the ground per day, and evaporate the water into the air around it, creating a humidity bubble. but also acting like a giant refrigeration pump, keeping the air around the tree cooler, using the evaporation effect.
