I’m the kinda of person that struggles a bit with addiction.
I have to wonder how much that contributes to me using garbage content generation machines like Xitter, but also all the other hateful, abusive, exploitative shit that finds me on the internet?
How many real people have I watched die because that shit came up on my feed? How many exploited people have literally prostituted themselves through the feed? How many addictive foods and substances have been pushed towards me?
I hate that we currently live in a world where this aspect of who I am is something this system actively seeks out and exploits. It’s all so dark and hateful.
However, I’m excited for when I’ll have my own personal AI agent that I personally and truly control, that will shield me from a lot of this bullshit, and really protect me from much of the garbage and free crack-hits that are the content eyeball hooks that have you doom scrolling at 3am.
I will happily spit on the grave of this shithole system of corporate exploitation that is the current architecture of the industrial internet.

Yeah I got back on X maybe 8 months ago after a year off, and it’s honestly like I started smoking cigarettes again.
I think I’ll be satisfied scrolling, I finish scrolling and feel like shit, and wonder why i scrolled and will do better not to scroll.

It’s pretty clear that X is designed to parasitically feed on negative emotions in short loops that are thematically linked.
It’s the eyeball dopamine feedback loop glitching out on the horror show max infinite. It’s like the rubbernecking at a grisly car accident had a freak baby with your nightmares about your own insecurities sprinkled with a few cat videos.
There’s this slow rot that is gangrenous to the whole thing. I think more and more folks are getting how unhealthy it is, and it’s not ‘social media’ fault—people want to connect and know what is going on in the world—but traditional social media models are designed for manipulation and control from the get go. The big tech companies don’t give a shit about our experiences, they only care about their bottom line which they make through advertising.
The good news is there is something new on the horizon and Nostr is likely the substructure of whatever that is. I’ll be glad when old social media dies from necrotizing sepsis.

Believe it or not, nostr is a space of compassion and holding, where all of the sins of the contemporary world can be held and honored for just what they are. Anyone can say whatever they want and need to here, in this place of pure expression. There is no sin or taboo… People can simply come as they are, with all of the pain, hardship, compassion and love that they can muster. Nothing can or will be forbidden. Few of us understand how needed and essential to the human soul it is that there is simply a space where they can say what they need to, and not be censored. It is of the most beautiful and honorable conditions of what it means to be human.
It is the only way that we will ever have the kinds of conversations that are necessary to create the kind of change that the world needs.

I think a lot about how to build a revolutionary political structure on top of Nostr. Its decentralized, censorship-resistant nature with bitcoin integration makes it a deeply powerful platform when synthesized with a vanguardist political movement—I think we would have a really killer app. The powers-that-be would try to stomp it out, and have historically been successful at that because they can censor, ban, and debunk them—such things would not be possible with this movement.
Such a movement would need to be vanguardist in nature, revolutionary in its educational capacity, and focused purely on revolutionary capacity vs politic partyism. This would be a lot of work, effort, and risk; but more and more I am coming to believe that it is the only way forward if we are going to offer posterity anything other than slavery.

That command is the root of its violence: it does not persuade, it declares. It does not emerge from mutual relation or discovery—it is imposed. Thus the fiat system does not just distort markets; it distorts the world, it disfigures being itself.
This is the first wound: value severed from truth.
Where once gold or goods bore weight from the labor of bodies and the consent of communities, fiat emerges ex nihilo through the alchemical ritual of central banking. It is the creation of “something” from nothing—and it demands your everything in return. Not simply your productivity, but your time, your attention, your belief. Fiat makes a mockery of consent: taxation without choice, inflation without representation, debt as inheritance.
Each dollar printed is not neutral—it is a claim on the future, a theft pre-authorized. The child yet unborn already owes. The citizen who resists already bleeds. The world that cannot speak—forests, oceans, silence—already burns.
This is the second wound: time enslaved to abstraction.
Fiat temporalizes existence into linear obligation. It turns the eternal now into a ledger. It reconfigures human life not as presence, but as yield. One’s worth becomes measurable by one’s ability to serve the machine—one’s capacity to extract more from less, forever. And when the curve flattens, when the returns diminish, when the body breaks, you are discarded, discredited, and replaced. Fiat does not believe in humans. The refusal to participate in this ontological lie is the first act of sovereignty. To say no. To exit. To return to the real. To seek systems where value arises from reality, not decree. Becoming older really has its gifts. While there has been a lot of pain, turmoil, and hard lessons; I’m finally old enough to learn from all of the difficulties rather than just repeating them over and over.
